Dr. Vivian Abenaa Asamoah, MD

I have only great things to say about Dr. Asamoah and her staff. She is kind, compassionate and explains all aspects of care and procedures. Her staff is very kind and is always so helpful answering questions.

The most comprehensive doctor visit I’ve ever had.

Dr Asamoah is a wonderful doctor, she shows and demonstrates great care for her patients. She really tries to find out the root of any problem(s) her patients might be experiencing. She shows great care and concern for her patients. I highly recommend her as a great and caring doctor.

Looking for a GI Doctor do not hesitate to see Dr. Vivian and her team. An ER doctor misdiagnosed me with Gastritis. We called Dr. Vivian’s office, and they set me up with an appointment the next day. Dr. Vivian’s approach and kindness to her patients are matched only by a caring loved one. You can feel from your initial contact with Dr. Vivian until your release that she cares about you and getting your diagnosis right. Dr. Vivian not only diagnosed me correctly with Appendicitis but also set up my surgery with one of the top surgeons to get my appendix removed. If I would have just listened to the ER doctor and not scheduled the appointment with Dr. Vivian, I may not be here today. I would recommend Dr. Vivian and her office to everyone in Houston especially the Katy area. She is one of the best if not the best!

I went in with severe stomach pains and suspected an ulcer (I have Gastro doctors in the family), she ordered a couple of tests which I did. They were negative and I was starting to have other issues. The second time I went with my teenage daughter who was completely horrified with how I was spoke to by doctor Asamoah. I said I didn't want to go under GA for a scope if there were other things she could explain it could be. She then told me I should tell her what to do, she is the doctor and I was expecting to go through options of what could be my problems. I explained in the room that I had bad anxiety and panic disorder and did not want and invasive procedure unless completely necessary. Again she asked me to tell her what I want her to do, I thought she is the doctor? She also lied and said that I told her to do the tests last time that were negative when that wasn't the case, she order the test and I confirmed on my phone that was the test my family suggested who live in another… country and are doctors. She had requested the test before I had said anything ? Then she ushered me out of the room quickly and then proceeded to talk about my personal problems and treatment plan in front of the receptionist staff and patients in the waiting room. Everyone could hear and she was making a joke out of my bad anxiety and that I should just go get the scope and I was so embarrassed I just wanted to leave. I said I would call them to make an appointment so I could just get out of there. I felt humiliated and bullied due to my panic disorder. I had the blood tests done that was ordered by her assistant (who is so much nicer to deal with). I had a lot of bloods done and then two came back abnormal and she didn't call me, I had to wait almost two weeks for her to even look at the results. I called after a week as I do not usually wait that long and the receptionist said they had received them 3 days ago but had not had time to look at them yet and it wasn't until the next week I got an email to say my results were ready. Im now having letters from my insurance saying they will not cover the blood tests because they were not necessary. I tried to contact the office for answers and my concerns with how I was treated and I heard nothing. initially I left two voicemails trying to schedule when I had very bad pain and didn't hear back for a while. Never made a complaint against a doctor before but my daughter was also very upset and speechless by the whole ordeal.

She has the WORST bedside manner, last year when I was very sick and needing surgery, she was very cold, uncaring, she even yelled at me bcz I called her at 1030 pm after she said call me anytime day or night I am here for you, yeah please she was yelling at me as if I was a child after I was the sickest I've ever been, I plan to report her to the medical board, she shouldn't be a Dr, it's obvious she hates her job, if I could give her a zero or no star I would, please beware, she is the worst Dr ever

Excelent Doctor and human being.

You can tell she really cares for her patients. She is very informative. she walks through all the steps and her plans, plus spent a very long time in the room with me.

Doctor spent very little time with me, long wait time, much more interested in making a profit than actually helping.. greedy

What an amazing doctor! She is gentle, knowledgeable, carrying and understanding. To be recommended!
