Dr. Vivian Yi-Ching Pao, MD

Prescribed incorrect form of medication. I suffered debilitating side effects due to toxicity. When I called the office for clarification and help, Dr. Pao told me I was "wrong", what she had called in was correct. I continued taking the medication until my next appointment (even though the pharmacist strongly suggested not continuing, suggesting instead to have Dr. Pao look for an alternative). When I went to my next scheduled appointment, I was told Dr. Pao was not in and I would be seen by another physician. This physician changed my medication plan after asking very few and general questions. This plan kept me on the XR version of the drug I called about (actually the correct formulation, the formula I was originally taking. Guess I wasn't "wrong"), added another diabetes insulin type medication and took me off another oral diabetes medication. Interestingly, while there my husband and I both saw Dr. Pao in the back office area chatting with staff, hummm. Thankfully I am… recovering from the toxicity after 10 months of suffering, but only because of the expertise and compassion of another doctor, (nurse and pharmacist). Please don't put yourself in harms way... find another Endocrinologist. I am not the 1st patient of Dr. Pao's that has had this experience, just the 1st to write a review.

I only wish I had come to Dr. Pao before seeing any other endocrinologist. I had a prior bad experience with a different doctor and came to Dr. Pao a little skeptical that she would listen to me and my concerns. She absolutely did and I have been feeling so much better since I have been in her care (about a year).

Like the previous review noted, Dr. Pao is really easy to talk to and always takes time to answer all my questions in a way that I can understand. I never feel rushed, she's very thorough, and I have great trust in her as a doctor. But most importantly her clinical advice and treatment has been very effective for me. Getting appointments with her can be kind of difficult but I'd rather wait to see her than get in quickly with someone else if I can help it.

Dr. Pao is so easy to talk to; she listens intently, asks questions & thoroughly checks my chart, going over information to make sure everything is complete & accurate. When some of my blood work came back with numbers that just didn't add up, she got me in directly across the hall from her office for more blood work within 10 minutes. I have recommended Dr. Pao to several people including my daughter-in-law who also loves her & found her to be very helpful.
