Dr. Wael A Kamel has the following 2 specialties
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

WORSE experience, If I could rate him a 0 star. I must warn THIS IS NOT A CHILD FRIENDLY OFFICE. I was given nasty attitude from the reception and doctor bc my 1 yr old decided to laugh out loud, doc the first thing he says is that you son? I said yes. Then he proceeded to tell me that if I don't bring him in the room with me he won't see me. His office is not child friendly n I would disturb other patients. I wish they would told me earlier and not wasted 3hrs of our time. I ended up leaving.
Dr. Kamel is a horrible doctor! He didn't diagnose me properly and now I have late stage Lyme disease. I waited an hour to see him. He didn't examine me. He said he was going to call several of my doctors and then call me back. I still haven't heard from him and it's been exactly 1 month. I called several times and left messages and still have not heard from him or any staff. When I called today, I was put on hold for 25 minutes before I hung up. His staff is also very rude! When I called last week and expressed how annoyed I was about Dr. Kamel not examining me, not calling me as he said he would do, and taking my money for doing nothing his office worker hung up on me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE DOCTOR AND STAFF !!!!
OMG! Dr. K has been an angel!!!! He has addressed every spinal pain issue. He his warm and caring and goes the extra mile to do the best for his patient. He is a great listener and always is accessible. His office administrator, Norma is wonderful! God bless them. For him, I am not just a patient, but a human being in need of his medical professional and personalized attention. God bless him!
