Dr. Walter Neal Taubenslag, MD

We seen Dr. Taubenslag after being referred to him by another urologist who was unable to do my husband's lithotripsy because of a bleeding risk and a need to wait after which time, the first urologist would be out of town. Dr. Taubenslag accepted my husband without delay and seen him the following day in his office. Upon our arrival Dr. Taubenslag noticed my husband did not look right and requested that we get a second X-ray. At seeing the x-ray the doctor decided my husband needed an emergency stent placed in his ureter to relieve his suffering as well as give his kidney that was swelling a much needed rest. The stent was put in place and my husband is now waiting for the stone that is obstructing his ureter to be crushed. I'm am very thankful we found such a caring surgeon who took excellent of care of my husband and I for-see will continue to treat him excellently. The staff were all very friendly and I found all of them to treat their patients with kindness and professionalism.

He had me admitted, Installed a stent, had the stone blasted to allow it to pass. Great doctor, great surgeon, deals in the truth only. Can’t say enough for him and his staff. As far as general urology, he is literally just OK. Nothing great or superior with his knowledge or skills than any other urologist I have dealt with. During a cystoscope he detected cancer in my father’s bladder. He did several scrapings and biopsies, but didn't biopsy the “angry area” as he called it, around the left ureter. Wanted to simply start BCG treatments. I insisted he see an oncology urologist. Dr T said if we went for the consult, he would discontinue seeing my father as a patient. Also, when we asked about bladder removal as an option instead of the BCG treatments, he bluntly said my father wouldn’t survive that surgery. Took several weeks to get my father’s medical records sent to the oncologist. Sorry to tell you Dr T, but my father had his surgery. Is now cancer free without needing BCG or chemo/radiation therapy, and was up and walking around the Cleveland Clinic the day after his surgery and has made an easy recovery from your surgery of death. Poorest bedside… manner of any physician I ha ever dealt with in my 26 years working in the medical field.

I called to see if this Doctor was associated with Wheeling Hospital..... I was told that I needed a referral and their office was very busy.... Again I asked if this Doctor is associated with Wheeling Hospital.... She said no he is privately employed and pays rent to Wheeling hospital.... I explained that I wanted to use a physician at Wheeling Hospital since I had an MRI there and needed a physician associated with that particular hospital.... After that, I asked does he use their operating rooms she said yes because they pay rent there.... I asked her name which she wouldn’t give me.....then I said that I didn’t know if I wanted to deal with a doctors office staff that acts like this..... She hung up on me....... I called back and the phone was lifted off of the receiver and put back down..... That person should not be in a position to deal with the public..... Very rude and unprofessional..... Guess I’ll never get to see if the Doctor is any good.......

Dr Taubenslag was by far the most unprofessional Dr I’ve ever seen in my life ., Rude and should not be practicing medicine any longer as he knows nothing of advanced technologies . Also filing a complaint with the AMA ... and the hospital..His staff too was extremely rude!!

Dr T operated on my elderly father at Wheeling Hospital. He was very honest and straight forward even though the diagnosis was not good. After the surgery, he came out and explained the surgery to me. And the next day, he came in and talked to my dad for a good while and explained the situation to him. I highly recommend him.

I am highly satisfied with Dr. Taubenslag. I had kidney cancer and had to have a partial nephrectomy. He was very caring, took as much time with me as I needed for any questions I had and has continued to monitor me even after 6 yrs.
