Dr. Wan-In Koo, DO

Dr Koo has been an excellent doctor when she provides the care herself. Unfortunately, she doesn't adequately supervise her NP and the NP will probably provide most of your care. I couldn't drive bc of dizziness. They told me not to. I told them I had no way to pick up my meds from the local pharmacy and asked them to call my mail order pharmacy. But they didn't call my meds in to a mail order pharmacy for 5 months, even though I asked every time I had an appt plus called in regularly. I doubt Dr Koo realized the problem but messages routinely get lost in that office and there seems to be no way to communicate the problem to her. Office refuses to have her call, just says they'll order the meds. During visits, the NP keeps saying she'll order the meds. But no one does. These are for blood pressure, thyroid, migraine, and tourette's. After 5 months of empty promises, in person and phone appts, and me calling the office begging for meds, they finally ordered the meds. But they sent… them to an out of state address, not to the local address where I need them. When I called about that, they blamed me, even though I'd been telling them for 5 months where I needed them to be sent. (It made no sense at all for them to send them out of state.) They told me it was my problem, not theirs, that I needed to fix it, and that they wouldn't do anything to try to get it right.

Great Physician

Dr Koo is one of the best, caring doctors I have ever had in all of my 66 years. I would highly recommend her to anyone because she will find out what is wrong with you whatever it takes.

orders lots of unnecessary tests, will not refill prescriptions unless have more tests - horrible experience

Went in with a kid for a routine checkup and Dr. Koo asked far to many prying questions that have nothing to do with the health of my child. Questions about guns in the house, style of discipline in the house, if my 4 year old knows their shapes and letters, etc. MAYBE (and that's a big maybe) these questions would be acceptable with a psychiatrist, but these questions are totally out of bounds for physical checkup on my kid. There is absolutely no way I will return, and if you value your freedom and privacy you will stay away as well.

No longer use her because I switched medical groups. I would have no hesitancy going back to her if I go back to SSM. One of the best. Good at telling you what's going on, proactive and up to date.

My family really likes Dr. Koo. She even takes the time to speak directly to my kids. My 6yr old is still quoting things she told him about diet and healthy eating 8months ago. That's awesome.
