Dr. Wasim Afzal Haque, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Wasim Haque for decades and he has provided excellent care for more than 20 years! It is my opinion that Dr Haque is greatly concerned about each and every patient and that he listens to my concerns and needs with interest and understanding. I have also had many visits with Amy Rivas for several years now. She is delightful and keenly interested in her patients and their needs. The office staff have been very helpful and have taken action to resolve any need I might have regarding my health and wellness, if it is in their purview. Together they are my medical needs family, and several times have gone above and beyond to resolve a medical equipment need or to provide a response to a concern. I am so thankful for the care and concern I have always received at Flower Mound Diabetes and Endocrinology. I highly recommend this office and the doctors there that serve our community!

My wife has been a patient of Dr Haque's for 5 years or so. She is an Addison's disease patient and had had 4 Endocrinologists before Dr Haque. They had cookie cutter solutions of just over-prescribing steroids and not paying attention to her responses to treatment. Dr Haque listens really well anytime we see him. He is extremely attentive to the specifics of how my wife is feeling and reacting to treatment. And even though I am sure he is very busy, we never feel rushed (like with most doctors). It always feels like we have all the time we need to ask questions and have him explain things. He has the best patient interactions of any doctor either my wife or I have had before. And most importantly while under his care my wife's Addison's disease symptoms have improved substantially. We went from her being admitted to the hospital 3x a year before she started seeing him (and during the first year), to not being in the hospital in going on 4 years, except to have our first child, that… would have been a lot scarier had Dr Haque not been there, making sure everything was going well with my wife and our son. We are now expecting our 2nd. And feel very secure with Dr Haque. We sold our house a year ago and while looking for a new house considered moving to a different metro area. One of the big factors of staying in this area was how unique Dr Haque is and how hard it would be to find an Endo as good as him if we moved away and how important we realize that is in our quality of life.

He is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear, but he tells you the truth and what can be done to help you. That is so important.

I have been a patient of Dr. Haque since I was first diagnosed with Diabetes. He has helped me to keep the diabetes under good control and keep me healthy. He is an excellent doctor and I would highly recommend him for anyone with diabetes.

I have been seeing Dr.Haque for a few years. He listens to all the concerns and makes sure everything is addressed. Very knowledgable and points in the right direction about nutrition and medication. Office staff is friendly and efficient. Any questions to the nurse line is promptly taken care of.

Dr. Haque is an excellent physician who is extremely knowledgeable. He is personable and facilitates a comfortable interaction between patient and doctor while maintaining a professional demeanor. I sincerely believe that he cares for and about his patients. I feel fortunate that I was referred to him and that he is my doctor!

With the pandemic in full swing, my appointment had to be changed due to shortened office hours. The staff rescheduled me for a few days after my original appointment. From the front office staff to the nurses and to seeing Dr. Haque, my visit was great as usual. I have been a patient of Dr. Haque's for many years and have always had excellent service.

Dr. Haque in an extremely thoughtful doctor who gets to the root of the issues and really improves patients' health (at least that has been my experience). I started seeing him for a concerning thyroid issue and he was able to help identify the underlying causes for some other issues I was having. We created a treatment plan and many months later I've lost around 40 lbs, all my bloodwork and blood pressure is normal, and I feel better than I have since I was in my late 20s/early 30s. I am continuing to work with him to further improve my health and he is one of the doctors who I consider truly "gets it." I love his practice and the amazing impact it has had on my health and my life.
