Dr. Muhammed Wasim Niazi, MD

I’ve written 2 other reviews about this incredibly gifted and caring man, one of the top physicians in the state. With 2 board certifications in extremely difficult specialties that almost always correspond somewhere in the brain, etc., his expertise and diligent determination to help his patients to the utmost of his very considerable ability is unparalleled. I don’t see my other reviews here, so perhaps I went on too long. I will keep my daughter’s story here very brief and write about my own seemingly life-changing experiences with Dr. Niazi in a different review. Our experiences with the doctor are completely different and coincide only in the fact that he no doubt saved my daughter’s life literally while saving mine, a very complex and difficult case that many doctors in many very reputable hospitals (Mayo Clinic, etc.) were just unable to put together, in the figurative sense. After being a gifted student and athlete all her life with no health problems to speak of, my… daughter suddenly started falling down and being unable to get up at age 28. She was spending time in bed and started taking some extra classes she was attending at college online. Eventually the child who never complained was was commenting that her legs hurt so much she simply didn’t want to do anything but attend to the absolute essentials in her life. She went to see her very smart and competent GP, who took her off the Rx she was taking and had her return in a month. When she returned with more severe symptoms he thankfully knew the only neurologist to send her to was Dr. Niazi. To sum things up, Dr. Niazi immediately knew something was very wrong, and suspected MS. He performed intricate testing in his office, sent her for brain and spinal MRI’s and a spinal tap, etc. Not only did this great man quickly determine my daughter had Multiple Sclerosis, he took her from not walking or using a walker/cane to remission in less than a year. He is warm and compassionate. I have read other reviews indicating he appears arrogant, and I can assure potential patients that he is one who initially wants to get the basic facts from a new patient, and then thoroughly review all prior records, including test results, prior dr histories, etc. I didn’t take my rather impersonal first visit personally, however, and after testing (I wasn’t in imminent danger), most of which no other doctor had ever thought to provide, he was able to go over all my results and finally put a name to my main disease and start me on a path to wellness. In short, he’s taken my daughter from pain and a walker, and dire MS that could threaten or ruin her very promising life, to virtual remission in about a year or so, and from the start he has treated her more warmly and compassionately than some of her best friends. Even when she became depressed and stopped making necessary appointments, he handled the situation firmly but understandingly. While I am not privy to most of her appointments, my daughter and I are are very close and I know she has complete trust and faith in him, and no doubt leans on him and tells him things she would never share with me. My daughter doesn’t share things easily, and only cares more for Dr. Niazi as time goes on. She is eternally grateful he has allowed her to again resume her full life. Especially if you have difficult problems and truly desire answers, don’t judge too soon. This is one doctor who truly deserves five stars. Most people only write reviews when they feel slighted or unhappy about something. I can assure potential patients he has no doubt changed or saved the lives of the thousands of people he has treated over the years, and they we never forget him. If you are fortunate enough to become his patient, you will not regret it.

Dr. Niazi is a compassionate doctor. He listens carefully to his patients and is very professional. He is cautious for the benefit of his patient and works hard to find the right treatments. He is a very good doctor in my opinion.

Horrible experience . He and his MRI/PET scan facility deserve a negative review but I can't even give a zero.

He is very arrogant and acts annoyed about answering any questions. He owns several imaging businesses so plan to do a lot of testing with no explanation of why and very vague explanations of results.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Niazi diagnosed me with epilepsy in five minutes without taking any tests. Had to deal with terrible side effects of multiple medicines for a YEAR before I went to the Orlando epilepsy center and found out I just have migraines. Niazi is the absolute worst doctor I’ve ever seen.

MS patient looking for neurologist to continue orders for existing treatment. Not interested in using monoclonal antibodies, new treatment in MS. Called patient irresponsible and accused him of "doctor shopping" without listening to the complete history. Aware that he was talking to a former colleague.

I am in process of doing tests. On first visit he spent at least 30 minutes with me in initial evaluation. Went over paperwork I brought him as well as worked out plan of tests he wanted completed on me in next week so we could find out what was wrong with me. He also prescribed some mild medications to help me until we found out test results. He also gave me a list of things he wanted me to do before our next visit. I found him very throughal.

Rude, Arrogant to the point that only what he thinks matters, Dismissive of what you have to say, changes previous doctors medication without considering reasons you are on it. dismissive of diagnosis other than the one he is treating.
