Dr. Wayne C Burgess, MD

Excellent screening of all my past problems, very efficient, listened to everything I had to say. Spent an hour going over everything with me. Very professional and caring. Down to earth and nice. Does talk a little about himself but makes him human. Most Dr.s rush you out, he was in no hurry. Felt comfortable.

New to TV's Healthcare system, Dr. Burgess was assigned to me as my Primary physician. He has addressed each of my concerns, spent a good deal of time with me in creating a patient profile, and has coordinated all of my appointments with the specialists I've needed, (who are all from within the organization.) He does tend to talk at a fast clip, so I have to really listen, (and that's a good thing), and, as someone else said in a Review, he does tend to offer his opinion from time to time, which, I welcome. I appreciate his knowledge of medicine and his being so 'thorough'. Personally, I can't understand why anyone would give him less than a 5-star rating. - Frances Umlauf, patient

This is someone who should never be allowed to use Doctor before his name! Inept, lacks compassion, can't or won't give you information about a diagnostic report, loves to hear himself talk about everything except you and your condition,and is argumentative and disrespectful of your concerns.

Overall just an unhappy person taking his frustrations of life out on the patient (my wife and son). Doesn't like questions, takes it as a challenge to his God complex. He needs to look into the mirror and see what everyone else sees, not what he thinks about himself! We won't return to Patient First if he is their physician role model!

Dr. Burgess spoke down to me. I went in because both eyes were irritated, itchy and swollen and had been so for a couple of weeks. At first I thought it was possibly just allergies but what concerned me was that I had a staff infection on my leg from a recent incision and I thought maybe I touched it with my hand and then rubbed my eyes, possibly spreading the infection to my eyes. When I tried to explain this to Dr. Burgess ... he cut me off and said "let me do the thinking...just tell me what's wrong." He did examine both eyes then he went right to the computer and started typing away. He told me he was prescribing an antibiotic ointment for my eyes....but if insurance doesn't cover it I can just buy something over the counter. He never did tell me what was wrong. Did I have pink-eye? Was it just allergies? He just handed me paperwork. When I got in the car, I noticed I had a sheet of paper with information about conjunctivitis. So... apparently I had conjunctivitis. … Burgess acts as if the patients are there to serve HIM vs him being there to serve the patients. I found him dismissive, rude and condescending. The rest of the staff at Patient First in Springfield, PA was very nice.

Spoke in a derogatory manner, calling my wife a helicopter mom.
