This person is the worst. Very unethical. Thrives on medical exams for insurance companies. Look for another.

Dr. Hsu was very polite and very informative. I was not given the news I wanted to hear but he explained my issues in a manner which I could understand and accept.

What a loser..Paid to lie by insurance companies.

I'm a current Mdiv student studying to be a Pastor. There have been comments that have portrayed Mr. Hsu as arrogant, as prideful, someone who shows no compassion and the list goes on and on. This is simply not true. Yes of course, Hsu does not want to waste any time. If your playing games or don't have a specific reason why your coming in, rest assure that he will let you know. But the man is the best in the entire world when it comes to a spine surgeon. You can trust him. This is a man that when he walked in, i can instantly tell that he has a passion for this field. I could tell he was brilliant the moment he first walked in the room. The man is a teacher of teachers. He came in with three different doctors in training. I came to him because the doctors before me kept saying that the pain in my lower back was a simple strain and they were not sure if the injury was due to the accident. I've never been in any back pain in my life. I've been in undergrad college, graduate school and… now soon to be doctoral work never using my back and ever since the accident i felt like there was something wrong with my spine and not a strain tendon. Once Shu came in, it took him only 3 minutes to come to the conclusion that it was a Par 4 fracture . Mr. Hsu is a great guy and loves what he does. My family will continue to recommend him for the rest of our lives and will soon switch over to Northwestern as the place to get medical treatment. John 3:16 Warmly

I made an appointment with doctor hsu and on the day of the appointment I called to confirm I was told that my appointment has been canceled. I was informed that it was canceled because he only sees patients that agree going to have surgery. I have not seen him and he has not seen any documents on my case so how can my appointment be cancelled because of surgery. I spoke to a nurse Nancy who was very rude and told me that his nurse. Would call me she never did. How can a doctor make a decision to cancel your appointment to see him based on surgery when he has never seen you or discuss your case with you. I am extremely disappointed with this doctor.

Please please please do your self a favor and find someone who is a good surgeon and someone who has a heart. He prolonged my care by months just so he can make money when the patient switches over to the physician he “refers” them to. I lived in pain for 8 months just to do this to me. Please find someone else

Please please please find a doctor who actually has a heart. After MONTHS waiting for my appointment. I get a call a a week before that he is canceling a group of patients and referring them to a bunch of doctors who I have NEVER heard of just so he can make money for sending them patients. My surgery was for my SPINE. I am not having some no name doctor operate on my spine. This doctor prolonged my carewhen I am in extreme amount of pain just so he can make quick easy money. I am disgusted by this experience and will be notifying Northwestern about this

i had a micro-discectomy surgery, a week later I was admitted to the hospital in agonizing pain, I was given a bunch of medications and nothing was changed to improve my situation, no treatment plan was ever created, no goal date for me to leave the hospital. It's my understanding that after my surgery he went on vacation so basically his team did nothing but ignore me, they literally left me to rot in a hospital bed while they took it easy during his vacation. Here I am now a full month later with my appointment for follow up changed and changed again (their doing), and now changed without my consent. I go to double check my appointment time in the portal and its a full week after because it was shifted with anyone talking to me about it. Still in pain and my medications run out TODAY and nobody is helping me at all. If you want to be treated like you don't matter then absolutely go and have your back worked on by this man and his team.

What an arrogant little man. Yulch. Superficial, insultingly dismissive, unprepared and rushed.

I am so happy that I picked another surgeon ,he appeared way too busy to answer simple questions,and I am the paying customer. ..shame on him .
