Dr. Wendy Saurenman Giles, MD

Everytime I see Dr. Giles I feel like I am being criticized and talked down to. I have not problem standing up to her but and I refused to be intimidated, but I think she is arrogant. I am looking for another gyno.

Dr. Giles spent a considerable amount of time with me. We discussed past history and present problems.

Dr. Giles is truly an amazing doctor. She listens to you. The staff was also very nice.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has had a less than optimal experience with this doctor. I read good reviews from her on another site (ZocDoc) and decided to give her a try since her Marietta location was convenient and it was easy to get in. Maybe that should have been a warning sign, other patients hit the nail on the head when they said she seemed more like a scolding mother than a caring professional. I am unmarried and have a child and (despite being in a 5+year relationship) she is extremely dismissive and borderline rude in addressing my sexual activity. When I tried to talk to her about some abnormal pains I'd been having during sex, she quickly said I should just stick to military position and went back to typing on her computer. No questions about what kind of pain, was it pervasive, how extreme was it, how frequent was it.. no, just simply, "Do missionary position, that shouldn't hurt". I have now seen her 4 times, each time being the same or worse than the time… before. Repeatedly starts each appointment by discussing my weight and why I haven't lost more since my last appointment. I'm happy to discuss my physical wellbeing with a doctor, but when it seems they're more concerned with their own first impressions (i.e. diagnosing all/most of my conditions based on the fact that I am slightly overweight as opposed to asking deeper questions, such as "when did this start?" or "Is this the first time this has happened?") than actually making an accurate diagnosis, I think I need to find a new doctor. She also repeatedly forgets information we've discussed from previous visits and does so like it was you withholding the information, not her who hand't recorded it. Its not a good sign when you go in for your 4th follow up in one year and your doctor can't even remember the main reason for your visit. Safe to say I'll be finding a new doctor. If you are an older/married woman, you may have a very different experience, however I would recommend any younger patients to seek another provider who will actually listen to you. Best of luck!

I chose this doctor because she was closer to home and I could schedule an appointment online. However, the ease of scheduling should have been a warning sign. Because this was my first gyno visit and I was nervous, my (usually normal) blood pressure was high. She spent the rest of the appointment telling me I need to get my life together and eat healthier, without bothering to ask about my history. Like others have said, she reminded me of being scolded by my mother rather than a doctor treating a patient. The largest red flag was when she told me information about treating another of my family members for an embarrassing condition. This was a complete breach of doctor-patient confidentiality and I would never feel comfortable returning, under any circumstances.

Dr. Giles is Awesome! I'm not there for a best friend, or to chit chat. She listens and responds in a professional matter. I have had two surgeries with Dr. Giles, each time she met me in the the surgical room to comfort me and discuss my procedure prior to the operation. I have had 14 various surgeries and Dr. Giles is the only one to be there when they put you under. It's a rare compassion that you just don't get with any doctor.

I liked Dr. Giles completely. She was friendly, talked to me at length about different topics I had questions about. Took plenty of time with me. She was thorough and knowledgeable. She knew I liked more holistic medicine and recommended a compounding pharmacist to have them make a custom prescription for me that she prescribed. She gave me written orders for a mammogram and bone density test which took me several months to get them done for travel reasons. I thought it odd that she never called to ask why I hadn't done them. It would've made me feel she really thought the tests were important for me to have rather than just another procedure. I'd go back again as it was my first time with her and I liked her professionalism.

Dr. Giles can be very judgemental at times, bringing her religious beliefs into the exam room. It made me too uncomfortable. I left her practice, as did both my adult daughters when she did the same to them.

Had seen Dr Giles for about a year. Had surgery with some complications that i felt she dealt with professionally, but only after ER visit. Thought after that history there would be a bit more attentiveness on her part. Wish she would type less on laptop and follow up with patients herself instead of having reception do it. Not with everything but feel that is important with more serious situations or when patient is in alot of pain. Think Dr Giles is competent although perhaps sometimes too conservative instead of pro-active when maybe she should be. Have left her because I felt hurt and upset when I did not get a personal call explaining a potentially scary condition that I also had questions about. Her receptionist is not a doctor or nurse and should not be giving medical opinions, I'm sorry. I was disappointed it turned out this way.

Reasonable and affordable office vist. Great staff
