We only saw her one time for a sick visit, so I can't speak for her regular patients. However, my daughter was 1.5 at the time. She never acknowledged her, as in said hello to her, introduced herself, was playful with her, nothing. I understood that she was only 1.5 years old, but they still "get" it, even as infants, and although I appreciate a doctor speaking to me about my child, I'm not the patient, they are, so I want them acknowledged as well. She then held her down forcefully to check her ears while she screamed, and said "sorrryyyy, sometimes I have to do this". Since all my daughter saw was a strange woman she'd never met enter the room, not speak anything to her, then just come at her with an instrument up against her face, most human beings would be freaked out by that, doesn't matter that she's 18 months. And lastly, she then prescribed her an antibiotic that currently has an FDA warning out on it for creating fatal heart rhythms in people. Even just having low potassium… or magnesium put you at risk for it. I'm glad I Googled the med before filling it, something was telling me to, and I wasn't about to put her on something so risky with an FDA warning on it for a simple first ear infection. The FDA even notes for doctors to consider the risk and if it's valuable enough to prescribe before doing so, and recommends to use other antibiotics first. If Dr. Sprinkle wasn't in such a rush (it was a Saturday) she probably would've done better or been more attentive. She was a nice woman, but spoke way too quickly and was rather hyper. We no longer go to Preferred Pediatrics and are happy at another local pediatrics office -- no interest in going back to Preferred.
