Dr. William Joseph Catena, MD

I saw Dr. Catena as a referral from my urologist. It was easy to get an appointment; the staff was friendly and helpful. Dr Catena was responsive to my questions and concerns. He took his time with me, and I felt I got professional and competent advice.

I have been seeing this gentleman for about 10 yrs. He has always been caring and thoughtful. We work as a team so my voice counts a lot. I can only speak for myself, but I like the guy and I am an RN.

I went to see him with a case of parasites, and before he even examined me or did lab work, he said I needed to see a psychiatrist instead. He said it was all in my mind.

Was told I couldn't receive Hep C treatment because I didn't have insurance and no fibrosis. Told to do my labs and call in a year. 3 weeks later, here I am with a new Dr who has shown true compassion and is starting me on Harvoni to hopefully cure my Hep C! Shame on calling yourself an infectious disease Dr or a Dr period.

True rating is 0 out of 5 stars. He never looked at my infected leg. Written orders: agree with assessment, will advise. Never showed up the following day despite having scheduled rounds at hospital. I spent 2 unneeded days at hospital waiting for him to return call to assigned physician. The assigned physician called another Infectious Disease specialist in because I was about to self check-out from hospital. Catena cost me 2 days of unneeded hospital expense.

Dr Catena and his staff are wonderful, caring and kind.
