Dr. William Peter Cipriano, MD

I was a patient for two years some years back, and he guided me from drugs and despair to sobriety, and now a happy marriage. I was only looking back now at these ratings out of curiosity, and that prompts me to write this. The prior 1/5 review is laughable, and I have no doubt was written by a frustrated drug seeker. I saw Dr. Cip, my neighbor saw Dr. Cip, and then I referred my mother to him. a) We all did well, b) We all liked him on a personal level, c) He is serious when he needs to be, d) He is quite funny/witty at times. He seemed to know everything about all medications, even those which had nothing to do with psychiatry. He seemed to know a lot about most aspects of medicine, at least as much as my internist. We loved this guy.

Dr. Cip is the best psychiatrist hands down. I think some of the bad reviews on here are from bitter people or from people who don't own their issues. This man has helped me combat my BPD, Anxiety and Major Depressive Disorder Diagnosis over the years. Because of him I can carry on in a semi-normal life working full-time and staying emotionally stable. You will not find a more caring doctor out there. He even saw me for nothing when I had a breakdown and had no insurance. I would be lost without Dr. Cipriano.

Dr. Cirpriano told me I was stupid, had a low IQ, would never own my own home and would never amount to anything. He also told me I was fat while he ate his lunch in front of me. I ALMOST want to thank him because I own my own successful business and home.

We tried to find the best care and saw many doctors. Dr. Cipriano has been the best for my son and we totally appreciate him.

I can only speak for my own time with him. I was mostly crippled with panic attacks for several years, and floundered through seeing several psychiatrists and therapists, taking what I now know was the wrong approach. He reassessed things, changed my medications so that I was not dependent upon them the way I used to be, and guided me through to actually getting better. I learned to understand my anxiety and panic attacks. I still occasionally have them, but no longer take medication.

The best Psychiatrist I have ever had!

Dr Cipriano's intelligent and skillful application of his high degree of experience and encyclopedic knowledge of pharmacology set him apart from any other physician I have ever seen. Highly intelligent and thorough, he looks at the whole of a patients health and circumstance. Unconventional in a positive way he is creatively able to care for patients with complicated and / or challenging diagnosis / needs. He is rarely on time, however he is caring and thorough so is more than worth waiting for. You couldn't wish for better office staff.

He is both wise and caring

Rather than caring for my health, this doctor made me more sick. He gave me a medicine that he himself said was inappropriate for my condition. Then he sent me back up to my university, WITH NO ONE TO MONITOR HOW I WAS DOING ON THIS NEW MEDICATION!!! The medication made me violently ill. I could have died. I had to spend months in and out of hospitals to get better. Now I am on another medication to combat the trauma from the one he irresponsibly gave me 5 years ago. And I can't even see another psychiatrist out of the sheer terror that they may do to me what he did. And he took absolutely no responsibility whatsoever, and said I would have gotten sick regardless of whether I took his medication. He's not only a bad doctor, he's immoral. Had I the money, I would have sued him for malpractice. The fact that I still have to think about this guy because of the PTSD from my experience with him - I haven't even seen him for 5 years! - and go out of my way to write negative reviews is… appalling. Avoid like the plague!

I've been going to Dr. Cipriano for most of my life and I've never been able to find a better doctor. Yes, you're probably going to have to wait a little while before your appointment. Bring a book. It means that he spends quality time with his patients and doesn't boot someone out in the middle of a cry session just to make more money. Very knowledgeable and helpful in diagnosing issues. Has made accommodations for me more than once. Would highly recommend.
