Dr. William Howard Anderson, MD

Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and attended Oregon State University where he first became interested in the science of immunology. He was involved with research early on in his training, and continued working on research projects through medical school at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He then entered internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center in Washington D.C.
After completing residency, Dr. Anderson pursued further training in his first medical-scientific passion, immunology, and began his career in the specialty of pediatric and adult Allergy-Immunology at the University of California at San Diego. There, he received clinical training at Childrens Hospital and Medical Center and at the UCSD Medical Center. Both clinical research in asthma therapy, and laboratory research in the basic mechanisms of allergic inflammation occupied much of his time. He spent an extra 3rd year in this …pediatric and adult specialty training program, spending additional time with the Allergy-Immunology specialists at Childrens, and also working in a special NIH sponsored Nasal Dysfunction Clinic with ENT physicians. Much of his time during the 3rd year was spent completing and publishing his research work.
With basic research experience, and knowledge of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of immune function and allergic inflammation, Dr. Anderson is able to bring the "science" of pediatric and adult allergy-immunology to bedside and provide his patients with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic options. He is uniquely qualified to provide allergy, asthma and immunology education and optimal therapy for both pediatric and adult patients.
