Dr. Montgomery is the best orthopedic surgeon both as a professional and as a human. His genuine care and kindness Is not common these days.

I'm a chiropractor in San Francisco and I've been referring patients to Dr Montgomery since 1996. Not everybody is recommended for surgery. His work with every one of my patients has been outstanding. And 100% of them patients that he has operated on have had an excellent recovery. I probably send him two or three patients per year. I don't think his stats handling my patient's could be any better.

I fell and broke my ankle and leg in Denver, Colorado earlier this year. The doctors in Denver, wanted to operate within a couple days. I explained I was heading back to San Francisco and would see my own Dr. I saw Dr. Montgomery the day after I returned to the City. He explained everything to me that he could not operate until the swelling went down and that it could be two weeks before he could operate. He operated on my leg and ankle exactly two weeks later and it went very well. He explained each step and called me the following day to check on me. I could not have had a better experience. I highly recommend him as a physician.

I met Dr. Montgomery and his team first time yesterday, after seen other doctors for knee problems. I found the staff and the doctor very personable and attentive. I like the fact that he did not jump into surgery, gave me other options. He thought that we might not need complete knee replacement, but partial. No fleecing in my opinion. He gave me a shot that normally will hurt quite a bit, but he and his assistant did an excellent job making it almost painless. No side affects, such inflomstion, pain, afterwards. I agree that there is a bit more waiting period than usual, but the doctor spent adequate time with me and he was very pleasant. I assumed he is very busy, but to me this is a good indication. I am a 65 year old woman on Medicare. I was treated very well. I hope my review, even though it is after an initial visit, helps someone.

My initial appointment with Dr. Montgomery was highly unsatisfactory--he was curt, hurried, and high-pressure for scheduling surgery I did not need. He showed little interest in understanding my medical issues or me. I chose not to have any dealings with him after the first appointment, but he billed my insurance almost $1,000 and me $130 for accomplishing nothing. Caveat emptor!

of course i had to wait- don't we always? mr. the third breezed in did not bother to introduce himself or look me in the eye; glanced at the films and told me to schedule for surgery . . . when i was impertinent enough to ask how long the recovery would be, he told me to BORROW an automatic transmission car from a neighbor . . . . cold, distant, and not at all "user friendly"
