Dr. William Joseph Hernz, MD

Dr. Hernz is the best medication management psychiatrist that I have ever been to before. Prior to prescribing any medication he ran DNA test to see which medications would work best for me and which I should not take at all. That test discovered my former shrink was prescribing anti-anxiety drugs that caused me to have severe psychosis, delusions and overpowering hallucinations. Dr. Hernz switched my meds and so long voices, thought projections and chronic fear. Well so long for the ones caused by that medication, now we work on treating the ones I was b Now I'm being treated properly, with the correct medication and doing so much better than before I began to see him. I would highly recommend Dr. Hernz to anyone. He is so easy to talk to with his relaxed style and comforting grin. His way along with commitment to proper medication standards make him an excellent doctor to meet your psych medication needs.

In my experience, Dr. Hernz now prioritizes profit over patient care. Initially, it seemed like he genuinely cared about his patients, but that sentiment has shifted. Instead, his focus is on his financial gain. I have never seen him make an effort to do any psychological testing or inquire about physical health. He does not seem to care. At the end of a session, I watched him holding his breath until I wrote a check, and then he very visibly breathed a sigh of relief. I found this strange and unprofessional as I have always paid his bills in a timely manner. It was always out of pocket as he does not take insurance. I have an anxiety disorder and I have always required more than one prescription to stay well. However he will not write his previous prescriptions and limits it to one only, not for any valid medical reason but to keep his door revolving and collect his fees. There is no excuse for very poor care. Overall, Dr. Heinz's approach to care is unprofessional and… unacceptable. I cannot recommend him to anyone seeking genuine medical attention.

Dr. Hernz is a very patient and friendly doctor. I had trouble tapering off of an addictive medicine and he seemed to be the only doc that genuinely cared and wanted to help me. It's very difficult to find a doctor who seems to want to work with you no matter your circumstances. I once had a panic attack and he was able to help me through it over the phone. I highly recommend Dr. Hernz!

Dr. Hernz is one of the most competent and kindest doctors that I have ever met. He solved medication issues for me that no previous doctor was able. The fact that he went o school in South America is irrelevant. It is who he is and what he has done for me and others that matters.
