Dr. William Janssen, MD

My most memorable experience was that during my difficult stay in the ICU, Dr. Janssen took me off of the medication that has controlled my significant neck and back pain for the last 7 years. Pain resulting from slipping, falling, and breaking my neck in 6 places. Since then I have had 2 spinal surgeries which have also resulted in additional pain. While in the ICU, the pain was excruciating and the physical withdrawal made everything that much worse. Not knowing anything about chronic pain and its effects on the body, Dr. Janssen decided to not only change my medication while in ICU, but he called my pain doctor, without authorization, and attempted to convince him to modify my medication moving forward. Thank goodness my treating physician continued my treatment as it had been in the past. However, if my Doctor had not believed in his own decisions, Janssen would have succeeded in making me live day to day in unrelenting and excrutiating pain that would have kept me from… enjoying life, and ensuring that I would be incapable of getting out of bed. If you have a choice, please utilize it and choose a different doctor.
