Dr. William J Jekot, MD

Dr jekot is thorough and caring. He always follows up on previous issues. I have multiple bone and joint issues and rely on his expertise in treating me and in doing multiple surgeries

I was sent to jekot for back pain that cause me to sit,stand, or walk long before I have pain. He look at a old MRI 5 months ago and said that I didn't need surgery. told me to bend over touch toes then raise up then tap me in the back to see if that hurts. yes it does hurt so he send me to physical therphy and it is not working. I ask him if he knows what wrong he say no but I know you are having back pain. so he wants to release me back to work even know I am in pain and cannt do anything. The only thing he really care about is getting me weight loss surgery besides caring and finding out the reason and what is cause of my back pain. I tell people don't come because he will not help you.

I see that Dr. Jekot has gotten several less than average reviews, so I have to interject that I have had nothing but good experiences with this doctor. Years ago he removed a tumor from a finger joint, and more recently he diagnosed me with tennis elbow, which I chose to treat with massage therapy. He has treated my adult son on numerous occasions for sports fractures, twice in delicate hand and wrist bones with pins and screws,and when he broke his ankle, Dr. Jekot kept the ankle bone from dying, which would have left him disabled. My son has regained full use of his extremities, with only minor aches during weather changes. It is my experience that the doctor does not have much patience for those who ignore his orders and professional advice. He is serious about his work, and I can see how this could be interpreted as rudeness. I have never had a problem with any of his staff, but I have seen patients snap when they are in pain or having financial difficulties and no insurance. I… was self-pay with Dr. J during my last visit, and before that I was on Medicaid or TNCare. It is my understanding he does not accept those anymore, but he does accept Medicare, as I found out this morning when I made an appointment for my 90 year old mother for consultation on a minimally invasive hip replacement. I would trust Dr. Jekot with my life. I hope this helps. Don't give up!

I would never refer this Dr, to anyone. The reason why is when you have a broken foot and he tells you put on a show and walk suck up the pain does not need to be a Dr. Not even going to mention the rest of what this so called dr did or how rude he was to a minor.

Office smelled really bad, staff was rude, he gave me shots in my arm sent me to therapy, he never read the report from therapy, he never looked me in the face never told me about my xrays and his desk clerk sent me back to work he didn't....worst experience with a Dr. I have ever had.

Refered to this doctor after an automobile accident. He stated he reviewed my x-rays and ask me some basic questions. He tested the strength in my arms, had me remove my shoes/socks to see if I had feeling in them and lastly had me bend and touch my toes. Upon completion he stated the good news was I didn't need surgery and that was it. I requested a second opinion (workmans comp) and two MRI's showed 3 buldging discs.

Staff and Dr are horribly rude and uncaring. Sent my child away with an infection on his arm after cast removal without even attempting to clean away bacteria. Disgusting practices.

I had knee surgery 10 years ago by Jekot and everything went well. At the beginning of 2011, I tore my ACL again in the same knee. Going back to Jekot was a big mistake for me. I was told that my ACL was tore as well as both my ring cartlidge. He told me that I would have to have knee replacement at some point in the future, but recommended patella tenon transplant. During surgery, he did not replace my ACL using patella transplant and stated that this would hinder my knee replacement somewhere in time. So now I'm stuck with no ACL when he could have just replaced using a donor tenon instead of what he recommended. He had the audacity to tell me and my wife that he could just do the surgery again after I'm healed up. I don't know, but that sounds a bit inconvenient. Everyone I have talked to since my surgery has told me to absolutely stay away from this guy. Too late for me, but maybe this save someone some trouble.
