Dr. William Keith Mckibbin, MD

I had a bad car wreck and Dr. Mckibbin was the surgeon chosen to do my surgery for my ankle. I had many injuries but my ankle was by far the worst. I’ve had 4 surgeries so far and plan to have another in about 2 weeks. Dr. Mckibbin has done all of my surgeries so far. I would never let another surgeon touch my ankle. My only negative thoughts on him is that I can’t see him for all of my healthcare needs. He has the best bedside manner I have ever seen. He takes time to explain everything in detail. He actually sits down in the room and talks with me each visit and as of now I’ve been seeing him for a whole year for my ankle. All that he’s done with my ankle how severe my fractures were and all the detail he’s had to do and the work he’s put in he’s just a brilliant surgeon in my opinion. I’m so thankful for all he’s done for me and like I said I wish I could see him for all my healthcare needs. He actually wants to help his patients he’s not just trying to make money. When we decided… to do my surgery that’s coming up it was because I’ve had continuous pain and his words were “we’ve made it this far, we just can’t give up now” I just appreciate him so much he’s actually concerned for my quality of life I feel any other would send me away. He’s great and I trust him with my life. I’ve had horrible experience with some doctors and nurses and he makes me believe in healthcare system again. My last surgery I had a few nurses giving me a hard time about keeping my pain controlled and he walked in and the nurse told him see she just keeps crying and his eyes got huge and he actually stood up for me and put that nurse in her place and he made sure that every nurse after her treated me right. I’ll never forget that. He’s wonderful

I saw dr.mckibbin for the first time he was so nice good bedside manners he educated me about my condition I am very satisfied with doctor at Uoc!!!

It's been a few years but when I saw Dr. McKibben he was so open and informative, easy to talk with and gave me great advice. Great to see such integrity and caring for his patients!

Dr. Mckibbin is about as good of doctor as you could hope for. I'm still recovering from my surgery but so far everything looks promising any questions i have get answered promptly and accuratly(except for the last few hes been on vaction for a week, but i'm ok with that) i like how he didn't make me feel rushed and took the time to say "are you SURE you don't have any more questions?" after i'd been asking him stuff for the better part of 15 min already. Highly recommend him to be your doctor if you need anything done in and around your foot and ankle!

Sadly, I will not recommend him to anyone I know based solely on the unprofessional, CHILDISH, I do mean CHILDISH, and rude staff from reception to his own assistant. Having said that, I feel terrible for this man of which is dedicated, concise and is nothing less than great. While he (the cat) is away, his staff (the mice) play dangerously close to being criminal, such as patient abandonment. If you have a call in with a question only to not have your call returned and you call hours after they said they would call you with an answer and they still do not have your answer so you call back before the close of business on Friday, they ignore your call. I did just that, tried three consecutive times only to listen to the phone ring and ring and ring..... I the immediately us another phone and miraculously it was answered on the first ring. His staff claimed to have "messaged" the Doctor. However I had to call MUSC, they paged him, called me back to let me know as such. When Dr.… McKibbin was through with surgery he returned my call addressed the issue and during that call his staff called and said my MEDICATION will be called in in 5 minutes. Obvious his office phone has caller id and his staff grossly overstepped their bounds. They were just minutes away from patient abandonment.

Very smart man who explains things clearly and thoroughly.
