Dr. William Milton Gillespie, MD

Dr. Gillespie is very attentive and supportive. His staff is organized & caring. He always follows up with me and checks in to make sure I'm feeling better and mentally stable. Paperwork documentation and prescription refills are always done in a timely fashion.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gillespie’s for years now. When you first meet him, he may seem unengaged or dismissive to you. It’s a common misconception about him, but he is actually just working through his brain while listening to your symptoms, to choose the best medication for you. He is quite caring, extremely efficient, and a talented psychiatrist. He is not the person to go to for talk therapy, but there are a few great therapists in his office to fill that need. Though my talk therapy has been the main instrument of internal healing for me, I often credit Dr. G for saving my life. He is really excellent at figuring out the best medications for you. He brought my psyche back from oblivion with the medication regimen he put me on temporarily. You might think he is rushing you because he wants more money, but after being his patient this long, I will tell you that he wants to help as many folks as he can, and that his desire is not to pump you full of medication the pharm reps… bring. He prescribes what could work best for you, and makes a concerted effort to help you get to a low level of medication, or off completely if possible. So, basically I am telling you that not only can you trust Dr Gillespie to treat you respectfully, ethically, and with compassion, but also that his understanding of brain chemistry and pharmaceutical options is vast, ever evolving, and extremely accurate. The office staff are very sweet and do their best. Sometimes it seems they are carrying more work than is doable- understaffed basically- but that is not always the case. More than half the time they are on the ball. And I don’t blame them because it is clear that they’re doing what they can with the work force they have. Thanks to Dr. Gillespie and the office staff for being awesome!!

Dr. runs late leaving patients waiting. Tries to cram many patients in at one time spending only 5 mins with each patient. Only enough time to add more meds to the list already taking or increasing the dosage. Only cares about collecting his money from insurance. This flake is a quack and should not be allowed to practice anywhere! Help yourself first by going elsewhere. A psychologist would be much more helpful. This guy keeps his patients like zombies all doped up.

Great Doctor

Dr. G calls in 5 patients in at a time and has 5 offices and he says you go there and you go there. It feels like I literally am a cow being herded in and doesn't even greet you until he comes into the room. He doesn't seem to be interested in my as a person. It is like give me the facts mam and tosses a script to you and walks out. After 2 visits i stopped going to him. I currently see the psychologist in that office who is wonderful. I really love Adele in the front office and the billing staff.

This Dr. Is the worst. Didn't even listen to me just gave me a prescription. HORRIBLE. Staff, bobie, i think was so rude. I left in tears . Please research before you go. I could have just had a bad experience.

I first went to this office 2 years ago after my daughter died..all they wanted to do was medicate me,wanted me in therapy, but of course had no therapists who accepted my insurance. Finally let them give me antidepressants a few months ago and they messed me up so bad I ended up with serotnin toxicity...through this nightmare I left several messages desperate for call back, never received one, the receptionist lied several times regarding different things, like saying she called and spoke with my husband..NOT TRUE..all I wanted was a Dr to talk to regarding my severe symptoms,not the dam receptionist..finally I was told by dr gellespie to just take more of my meds (and that was through a phone call with incompitent receptionist)...Come to find out someone there messed up and had me taking 2x the FDA allowed max dose of one of the 2 meds I was on. Well i ended up in er 3 times before I was accuratley diagnosed with this potentially fatal toxicity. I had to basically diagnose myself… through my own research on the meds prescribed (to find that 2 I was on should never be taken together)and my symptoms. Desperate (because no one would call me,who was qualified anyway, I went to a pharmacy and spoke with a pharmacist who confirmed that based on my symptoms and meds this "serotonin toxicity"was very likely...and with that I went to Er for the 3rd time and thank God the Dr knew of this toxicity, and totally agreed with me regarding diagnosis. I could have died!! Through all the 2 years there, I cant tell you how many times I have had no meds,thanks to them never returning calls and the receptionist lying saying she did something,like fax or call pharmacy,,(which was always very obvious she forgot) mostly always took me at least 4 days of harassing them to do,leaving me several times with no meds for days on things that were not supposed to be stopped abrubtly. I am left now, a month since diagnosis looking for a new Pych. to help me. My primary is trying,but doesnt know a whole lot about these meds. As far as I am concerned this is just a horrible place. You will wait forever to see a dr or Np for 5 min, the staff is terrible, mess up billing all the time, and when you need them the most they are not there. It takes weeks to get in and all the bad reiews here are correct...avoid it..if your looking for a Psych dr, like me you probably do not need the added stress in your life.

After some pretty traumatic events in my life, I had slipped into a deep depression, and been having suicidal thoughts for Months. Dr Gillespie, had no appts open for 30 days. I couldn't wait that long as I thought I might try something stupid/crazy, so I booked an appt with Lana Martin PA. The meeting was good and she gave me a treatment plan, and I was to call back on Monday to start the plan. I left 4 messages for her throughout the next week and no call backsâ?¦then 1 for Dr Gillespie and no response, and I never got a call back from him. After none of my calls were returned, I called the answering service and they pulled up all my messages and said they were given to the staff the next day after each message. I called the office staff to find out what was going on; they then lied about 2 things (wonâ??t detail here) they had told me when I was at the office originally, then the office mgr started yelling at me, really? REALLY?? I go to them because I am suicidal and need… help desperately, get no calls returned, then yelled at by the staff???? I am not a yeller and hate yelling, so this just made the whole situation worse. It took a lot for me to go to the Dr. in the 1st place, now to have this happen I donâ??t know what to doâ?¦

This doctor should be investigated. He is careless, thoughtless, inattentive. His only real connection seems to be with the drug companies. I know that's true with a lot of doctors, but combined with Gillespie's cavalier attitude about patients and prescribing medications, it makes him potentially very dangerous.

This doctor was a very huge disappointment overall. No communication, no instructions on discharging, no help informing patients loved ones on what to expect and the next step out of discharging from a hospital. I have filed a complaint with this doctor and hope the investigation goes well in depth.
