Dr. William Allen Okerblom, MD

The Doctor treated my grandparents for ýears. If in had known what a horrible doctor he was I would have done something sooner but my grandparents trusted him. I got my grandpa at the end on hospice and he came out to the house and told my grandpa he couldn't be his doctor anymore if he was on hospice and that he wasn't dying. I was furious. I called the office and his nurse answered. I asked what was going on? I said what does the doctor want their money? Suddenly he pipes up. Had me on speaker and says why don't you just go away? I said g9 away? I don't think so. All the family lived 4 hours away and we had hired a nurse to come in 4 days a week for 2 hours. With hospice we had other days covered. Plus the doctor had a catheter in him and hospice had gotten him oxygen and pain patches. They had to leave after doctor came and scared my grandparents. I asked them who is going to monitor all of these things and the nurse and doctor said they would. We'll two weeks later no visits m6… grandpa passed. He was taken in ambulance because he couldn't breathe. The on call doctor was disgusted. Said grandpa had an infection in catheter and lungs had filled up with fluid so he wasn't getting enough oxygen and was in pain. Thanks Dr okerblaum!

Finding Dr Okerblom has been a godsend. He is always willing to address each and every issue we've had on our list. He takes time to explain procedures and different types of medications we are prescribed. If a medication doesn't agree with my body he finds an alternative. He is great at referring me to the best doctors for specialty things. Dr Okerblom always makes sure he's in the loop of how things go when seeing the specialist. He is genuine and I believe we will have a long lasting doctor/patient relationship. He's easy to get to know. Dr Okerblom is easy to talk to and can be trusted.

This doctor is great if you rate him on ease of making an appointment. Today? Tomorrow? No worries as long as he is going to be in the office. He glosses over lab results. He does not order routine testing. He is very chatty, though. If I needed someone to talk to I would have joined a social club. I need a good doctor. The office staff doesn't put conversations in notes. I received three return calls by the same person for the same call. Each time nothing went into the notes. That's why you can get in to see him the very net day.

This doctor doesn't often make a diagnosis without looking up the condition on his computer. (I could have done that at home, without paying a co-pay.) He spends so much time looking things up that it takes up most of the appointment. If you have a question or something to say, you'll be talking to his back most of the time. Facing you is not much better, because he still doesn't usually give a correct diagnosis. He treated me (after he looked it up) for 8 weeks for a condition I didn't have. As a result, I took an unnecessary medication for a couple of months. I trusted him with my care partly because the condition was very painful, and I was desperate for relief. Another doctor diagnosed and treated that condition, looking at my face and not looking the condition up on his computer. The doctor profiled here did take a minute to pray for me. In addition to looking things up, he spent way too much time talking about his religion and what I should believe. At one point he prescribed an… addictive medication. When I questioned that, he said, "Oh, everyone is addicted to something". When I attempted once to ask a question, he said that he "needed to move on" and left the room. As I was leaving my appointment, he turned his back to me and hollered down the hall, "I'm sorry that I didn't have all of the answers you wanted today!". I had 2 questions, and I got 1 in, sort of.

Dr. Okerblom doesn't like to be questioned about his diagnosis by his patient or their wives that is if u can get him to look away from his computer long enough to look at you which leaves you talking to his back for most of the visit! Very sad to know there is a doctor that is out there that is suppose to be helping people that just isn't up to the task. As he yelled at us as we were leaving his office, "try doing my job, try doing my job!"

Dr. Okerblom was there when I needed him most; he's the best.

Dr. William Okerblom is kind, caring, personable, and very knowledgeable. He makes excellent, accurate referrals when needed. He's an excellent choice for a primary care physician.
