Dr. William Joseph Phelan, MD

Phelan is not caring and helpful at all. He is hiding behind the ladies in the office at his old facility. He does not go the extra mile for you. The staff in his previous facility was rude, not helpful and just want easy things. The ladies staff in his previous facility totally refuse to help you to do the extra mile. One staff lady was particular rude in his previous facility. Our family is going for years now to a really nice family doctor and with great staff. I am so glad Dr Phelan throwed us out of his praxis. This was the best help and favor he did for our family.

Dr. Phelan and his team are amazing. I genuinely feel like I'm not a dollar sign to him or the office which is a great feeling, but add on top of that, he's very genuine, and I have never left his office feeling written off. My concerns are addressed as well as my opinions are taken into consideration which is also important to me. Dr. Phelan and his are great. I have nothing but positive things to say regarding his practice.

Very rude does not care about you and your issues the secretary's are very rude and unprofessional the worst all around

I have been Dr. Phelan's patient for over 30 years. During this time I have usually been healthy, but with age have come some major medical concerns. He has listened to me and sent me on for further testing and evaluation. I don't understand the negative comments about him, unless those making the comments think they should be the diagnostician instead of the doctor. I would recommend him to anyone. He is patient and caring and I never feel like I am just another number to him.

Refused to refill prescriptions for 72 year old Diabetic over a 67 dollar late payment. Then when payment was made was rude , codescending and told me to find another doctor and still refused to expidite transferring of medical recordd to a new doctor. I went 4 WEEKS to get my medcine because this man is a vindictive man. WORST staff ever to hang up on people trying to simply save their lives and get medicine. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS APPARENTLY FORGOTTEN WHAT A DOCTORS ACTUAL JOB IS.

Literally nothing bad to say. Best medical person (of any...meaning, PCPs, dentists, specialists, nurses, anything) I've ever worked with. It will honestly be a consideration if/when we decide to leave PA. Great PCPs are hard to find, and if all other things were equal, getting to keep him as my PCP would tip the scales to stay.

Dr. Phelan told me my son , who was about 4 the time, was going to grow up to be a juvenile delinquent because he had a meltdown after a shot. My son is autistic and Dr. Phelan had him overmedicated on ADHD meds which contributed to the meltdown but Dr. Phelan never saw his part in any of it. Our experience was that he was cold and uncaring for the most part and if we had an opinion different than his he became downright mean and rude. I also totally agree with the other comments about his issues with females. Since switching to a group of wonderful doctors I've had no issues since .

Dr. Phelan has been our family pediatrician for over two decades. He is caring, hilarious, current in medicine, good with people, friendly, compassionate, and skilled. I would HIGHLY recommend his small, personable practice to any parent seeking a consistent, highly competent pediatrician. Dr. Phelan, if you read this, I would like you to know how fun and interesting you've made something as simple (or frightening) as going to the doctor's. I can speak for my entire family when I say we will miss you, thank you for everything you have done for us.

Dr. Phelan was my pediatrician for 18 years, as well as the pediatrician for my 2 siblings. We all have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He is very knowledgable in his field and even as a child he would speak to me, not just speak to my Mother. He listens to your concerns and addresses them. He may not cater to a parents every whim but that I believe is the sign of a great doctor, because he knows what he is talking about. I have nothing but respect for Dr. Phelan.
