Dr. William David Posten, MD

I took a photo in William Posten’s office bathroom after he made the first skin removal and testing using the Moh’s procedure, and I was shocked how deep he went for basal skin cancer that was no longer visible after my local dermatologist sent a biopsy of it out for testing. Afterwards, the insurance company’s nurse informed me that the medical clinical info did not support the large and deep hole he carved into my face, which then required plastic surgery. Thereby increasing the cost for both me and the insurance carrier. Posten also went to the third level on his first cut of skin removal, instead of cutting off and testing each layer before going to the final level. Additionally, the tiny spot of basal skin cell was only 2 millimeters in diameter, basal is the slowest growing skin cancer, and it only appeared several months before the Moh’s procedure he performed. To add insult to injury, like other patient reviews I found online about Posten (unfortunately after I had my… Moh’s surgery) he overcharged me almost $1,000 for the surgical procedure, and his billing office hangs up on you, instead of following the correct procedure of returning the overcharge to you. The only reason I went to Posten was because he was listed as an in-network doctor by my insurance carrier, which means he is supposed to charge the patient what was listed on the insurance carrier's Explanation of Benefits (EOB). If he has a problem with the EOB, then must appeal the difference to them, not keep the patient’s over-payment. While I was waiting to hear the results of the first pass of the Moh’s procedure he informed me his office employee under-charged me $1,000, and I feared, if I did not pay it, he would not finish his procedure. Dr. Posten was really sweet and engaged me in conversation while preforming MOH's surgery. He made sure that all cancer was removed and his staff was friendly and very efficient. We are lucky to have such a talented Surgeon here in the Dallas area. I highly recommend him if you are needing a referral from your Dermatologist for MOH's surgery.

I will never revisit this establishment. The nurse's section is not soundproof; therefore, it is easy for the patient(s) to hear any and all disparaging remarks made by the staff. The bedside manner for him and his staff are at best, indifferent, and at worst, condescending. Dr. Posten charges for additional items/follow ups that most surgeons would bypass. Fortunately, I was not charged for the previous patient's blood that remained on the surgical tray after his/her procedure.

This was my 4th procedure, not once has he had to go back and take more. He and his staff are outstanding and they make each visit as good as possible considering the reason you're there. I highly recommend him and his staff.

after an initial vitals exam, I sat for over 50 minutes without seeing a member of the staff or Dr. Posten. I walked out after notifying the receptionist. 2 minutes after driving away I received a telephone call telling me that they were ready for me.I told them I was not returning. 2 minutes later I received a call from Dr. Posten informing me had an emergency and that was the reason he did not see me. he said he would write me a letter to explain the consequences if I left my condition. He may be a skilled practioner.I will never know.

Dr. Posten and his staff were truly wonderful during my visit. He is very thoughtful and caring towards his patients. I am really pleased with the outcome of my surgery and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a Mohs surgeon.

Dr.Posten recently removed a medium to large squamous cell carcinoma from my arm.It was very easy to get an appointment and have the surgery performed.He skillfully removed the cancer, sutured the wound, and I am still under his care. He seems to be a very skillful surgeon.The only criticism is that he is like a tornado whirling through the exam and surgery rooms---very little communication in an one-on-one situation.Slow down; you move too fast.His staff is very well trained and skillful.

Excellent experience! The ladies in the reception area and the ladies who assisted Dr. Posten were all excellent and very professional and helpful. Dr. Posten was friendly, engaging, and knew what he was doing. From start to finish, I had a great experience, and I would highly recommend using their services.

Dr. Posten is one of the best doctors I have seen. He is the expert in skin cancer care.
