Dr. William B. Seiden, MD

Very poor experience with Dr. Seiden. His "God-like" demeanor, disrespectful treatment, failure to listen, continual interruptions and outright refusal to review past medical records and prescriptions contributed to a very poor experience. He was 12 minutes late for a tele-visit. He told me that if his suggestions, which I indicated were ineffective in the past with same issues, provided no relief, to not call him back - instead to call my primary physician. He repeated this several times. He did not want me to ever call him back. He did not express care or concern for my well being. I should have looked at other reviews of him because clearly, others have commented that they have received the same treatment - Lack of listening, lack of respect - Lack of general caring for the patient.

It sure was a great loss to the UW Hosp and clinics to see him leave

Dr. Seiden is the best GP I have ever seen. He is caring and always helpful in every way. I left another practice to take my dad to him when I found out he was at Northshore medical. We will miss him very much. He is the best.

I have been working with Dr. Seiden for for a few years now including regular physicals, IBS symptoms, and referrals to specialists for allergies and asthma. In my experience, Dr. Seiden will spend time with you instead of moving in and out of visits with patients as many other doctors will do. For me, this is huge. He is a quirky guy, almost dorky in a way that provides some levity to those open to it. I come to each of my appointments well informed on what I want to discuss and what I feel is best for me based on my body and the research I have done. Everytime I can support my position and make practical evidence based points, this Doctor has had enough humility to consider what I have to say in both his diagnostics and treatment recommendations. He has never tried to bully me because he is the one with the medical expertise, which I feel, many other doctors will do. If you're looking for a doctor that has all the answers, is a master of his craft, and will direct you to… solutions without your having to do any work, then Dr. Seiden is NOT a good choice for you. However, if you like to work consultatively with your doctor, even challenging him or questioning his assertions, then Dr. Seiden will allow you to be your own advocate without things getting 'combative', heck, he'll even commend you for it. The choice is yours and it depends on what you are willing to take on for yourself.

I had Dr. Seiden as my primary Dr. for my HMO. He has horrible bedside / customer service abilities. He seems more concerned about being right then listening to his patients. I had asked for a prescription which he said he would provide and then he forgot. Later when I called for script and was out of town he said I would have to come back in for appt. I explained I had already been on medication and was out of town but he would not even talked to me on the phone about it or call me back. I asked receptionist whom I could speak with about the lack of customer service and she gave me someones voicemail and that person in charge of customer service/Dr. oversight never returned my call. I would avoid NorthShore Medical Group and especially Dr. William Seiden.

Dr. Seiden is an very good primary care physician. He is on time, prompt, thorough and friendly. I especially like that the office runs on time. I have never had to wait more than 10 to 15 minutes to see him, and more often it is 5 minutes. He keeps copious notes and that makes follow-ups easy because he can look at your history. He does like to see his patients annually at the least. I would recommend.

Dr. Seiden has been a great primary care physician. He is knowledgeable, doesn't push drugs without proper causation, and hears you out. He is also courteous and helpful with questions outside of appointments etc.
