Dr. Xiaoming Guan, MD

I was in extreme pain when I saw Dr. Guan. From my first appointment, he determined that I needed surgery. He performed an 8 hour surgery that was supposed to be 2 hours. He called in a colorectal surgeon. My recovery from the surgery was pretty smooth and I am Pain free so the surgery was successful. I had stage 4 endometriosis.

I had several fibroids which caused excruciating pain every month with my period. Doctor Guan was my second opinion and his empathy and knowledge (>2000 robotic surgeries) convinced me to stay with him and let him perform my surgery. I had a small complication on second week and he was in China but one of his fellow doctors saw me and she (Dr. Elise Bardawil) was absolutely amazing doctor and extremely empathetic. Now, week 6 I have another complication. Unfortunately, the Baylor's Obstetrics staff (specially front desk and Aspara, Dr Guans nurse) are WORTHLESS and DON'T CARE about the patient well being. So disappointed!!

Dr. Guan is an amazingly skilled surgeon. He performed a single incision laparoscopic myomectomy on me, and the scar is nearly invisible. So far I have had a very rapid and smooth recovery! I would recommend him and his great staff to anyone! They really went above and beyond!

I had uterus fibroids for more than 10 years. Due to heavy bleeding and abdomen pain during the periods, I had traditional myomectomy 5 years ago by my previous OG doctor. While it recurred 3 years ago, with even more bleeding, more pain and sever anemia. Fortunately, 3 moths ago, my friend recommended Dr. Guan to me. Dr. Guan is a talented, professional, and an experienced doctor. He is very nice and patient when listening to me and answering all of my questions, explaining all medical terms to make sure I understand. After the visit to Dr. Guan, I decided to have laparoscopic hysterectomy by him. It has been approved that I made a wise decision. Dr. Guan performed laparoscopic hysterectomy for me 20 days ago. Compared to my previous myomectomy surgery by another doctor, laparoscopic hysterectomy preformed by Dr. Guan is definitely an experience with less-pain and a quick-recovery: I was able to get up from the bed easily without anyone's help 4 hours after the surgery and walk… around without any severe pain the same day after the surgery. I got back home and had normal meals the same day as well. I was able to have a shower the very next day. Dr. Guan even called me and asked for my feelings. His great caring manner and tremendous skills make him one of the top doctors I've ever known. Dr. Guan is really a life saver. I strongly recommend him to whoever is suffering from a similar situation while being eager to have a much better quality of life, like myself!

Dr. Guan is an amazing doctor who was highly recommended to perform my surgery. He explained the procedure in layman's terms and provided his history and stats for prior surgeries. He was thorough and encouraged questions before and after to ensure I was informed and at ease.

He himself called me after my surgery to check if everything's ok.

Dr. Guan is an excellent surgeon specialized in minimally invasive surgery. It is 3rd week after my laparoscopic myomectomy and I feel 100% back to normal life after 12 days from the surgery day, had a minimum pain only for the first few days and was walking from the day one. He is very professional and confident, always spend enough time to answer questions, explain procedures, made throughout examination and from the first visit I felt confident in positive results. He has an excellent bedside manner too and shows genuine interest in his patient. I'm very pleased with my surgery experience. I wish good luck for all women who is reading this review and who is looking for surgeon like I did months ago. I recommend Dr. Guan, you will be in great hands. I'm happy that I found such an excellent surgeon.

4 days ago I had a minimally invasive total hysterectomy by Dr. Guan. I give him an A+. I was up and around from day 1. As of today I only have a slight stinging in the area of the entry. I have lost no energy. I am extremely please. The abdomen is extremely difficult area to work in, there are so many things that can go wrong there. He is like an artist. He is excellent at his craft. It matters which doctor you choose, Dr. Guan is THE one for Minimally Invasive Surgeries!
