Dr. Yanina J Abaunza-Fiallos, MD

Had 2 horrible experiences at Dr Yaninas office and will not be returning. Dr. Yanina and her husband have both seen my son and given sub-par service. Patient rights are not respected and Dr. Yanina is extremely pushy and disrespectful. She does not listen to patients, she only talks at them and is quite rude.

A great doctor with wonderful staff. I would recommend this office to anyone with a child! Whenever my child needs to be seen they always give him same day appointments. Staff are polite and respectful to any wishes I have and doctors are incredibly helpful, mindful, and treat any diagnosis as fast as they can. The doctors call a couple days after a sick visit to see how my child is feeling, and even called after his surgery to see how everything went! This is a group of professionals that put love and trust into me and my son. They are apart of our family and I'm I couldn't be more happy that I choose Dr.Fillios and her staff!

We chose a Pediatrician quickly as I spent the last 6 weeks of pregnancy in the hospital. We chose Dr Nina mostly based on proximity. She spoke very quickly so was often hard to follow but we tried to take copious notes during each visit. When our children got sick we found it odd that the first visit NEVER warranted treatment however 3-4 days later we would always end up with a very sick child on our hands (lots of ear and sinus infections) and had to go back again for diagnosis. We became a bit agitated but continued with her figuring she had our best interest at heart and maybe we were bringing them in to early. Then about a year ago after my husband took one of our children in for a sick visit he came home and vowed that he would never go to an apt again with Dr Nina as she was very belittling and sarcastic when he asked innocent questions. I took it with a grain of salt ...however recently I went in myself with a sick child and found the same thing. In fact, she basically… scolded me when I asked why often it takes two visits for a diagnosis. Sure enough, 3 days later (and two nights of crying all night from the pain in her ears) we found that our child had an ear infection and conjunctivitis in both eyes ! We have now had ENOUGH. She may have experience but her bed side manner leaves a lot to be desired. After all, who is the patient here? Who is the customer? I would not recommend Dr Fiallos, especially if you are a first time parent. She is not patient and does not welcome questions .

Doctor Nina is a wonderfully fun and intelligent physician. She is always helpful and eager to help in any way. Always calming and will refer and follow up.

My 3 children have been patients of this practice since 2005. As a mom Dr. Nina understands your concerns as a parent. As a doctor Dr. Nina understands the medical needs of your child. She balances both very well. She listens to you and is genuinely concerned when there is a problem. She will talk TO your child, not AT them. Her office has 2 waiting rooms, one for well children waiting for checkups, immunizations, etc and one for sick children to help avoid spreading germs. She doesnt give antibiotics without good cause and keeps track of everything. Her office staff get school forms ready quickly and will notify you if there is a problem with anything. Dr. Nina can talk pretty fast sometimes, but she will slow down and repeat things when necessary and doesnt get offended if you dont understand or have to ask her to explain something.

She is very thorough, nice and has good beside manner. However, she is very pushy about vaccines. I am disappointed because before seeing her I called her office to see if she would be flexible and was told yes. I was surprised to meet with her and find out she is not flexible, and is very argumentative. I also felt that she treated me like I didn't care about my child just because I wanted to follow an alternate vaccine schedule. Overall, she is a good doctor but if you do not want to follow the standard vaccine schedule she probably isn't the doctor for you.

"Dr Nina" is a wonderful doctor! She talks directly to my son and he loves her. She takes her time and even offers written information about my child's illness (or development), if appropriate and available. I refer people to her frequently and they have all fallen in love with her too!!! If you are looking for a great pediatrician, she is the one...
