If I can give 0 stars I would. I am 26 weeks pregnant on Dec. 28th 2018 I was diagnose with influenza A and Bronchitis. Also I had a fever of 103 and my heart rate was elevated at 145-158. Dr. Yoganand Deendyal ordered an x-ray of my chest which when the Tech came to preform it I had ask if this was ok considering I'm pregnant, she seemed surprised and said yes as long as she uses some extra protection. I would have never gotten the extra protection if I didn't ask. The x-ray came back clean, but Dr. Deendyal asked me to sign a paper to do a cat-scan with contrast. When I asked why, he said I might have a blood clot somewhere b/c my heart rate is elevated and if they don't find it in time I may die (anyone's heart rate can be elevated with a fever of 103 and being as sick as I was and pregnant) I was in tears and frantic. I didn't feel like what he was saying made any sense to me considering I know when you're far along in pregnancy you try to avoid cat-scans and x-ray unless you… really need it. This cat scan with contrast would have went through my placenta and on top of that their applying radiation to my baby. He had no valid reason for the cat scan. I know that just like anything else you do or take there can be reactions. If that tech didn't begin to list me the side affects, I would never know my baby and I can get cancer or be born with a disability. I took the information and refused the cat-scan. Dr. Deendyal seemed upset and asked why I refused the order for the scan, I expressed my concerns. He stated to me that "my worries are ridiculous b/c my baby can be born with cancer either way". This was shocking coming from a MEDICAL CARE PROFESSIONAL! I was already in tears and frustrated and worried for the care of me and my baby. He told me considering I refused order he's going to release me and give me medication one of them being an antibiotic. I ask him if he's sure that would be ok b/c I also know most antibiotics are not good for pregnant women. He told me obviously its ok that's why I'm prescribing it. The nurse then came in and said she not releasing me b/c my fever was still high and my heart rate was 158. I was so scared and stress it was literally impossible for me to calm down. I could barely walk, extremely dizzy and now thinking I may die b/c I may have a blood clot. Dr. Deendyal did not care and said I needed to be released and prescribed me Azithromycin Tablets USP. Which after I took It for 4 days and was not getting better. I then went to Saint Peters in New Brunswick and showed the doctor the paper work and what he prescribed me. He was furious and told me Dr. Deendyal prescribed me the wrong medicine and that there was no valid reason for the cat scan especially one with contrast. If you have the flu and you are pregnant it can lead to series complications. Any other hospital would of admitted me. Capital Health is 15 minutes from my house. Saint Peters in New Brunswick is 45 minutes I been going to them for years they are amazing. I will never go to Capital Health Medical Center hospital ever again and I refused to have my baby there.
