Dr. Yuichiro David Nakai, MD

I finally found Dr. Nakai after trying 3 other Endocrinologists. Dr. Nakai is smarter than smart, has a good sense of humor and is KIND!. I go into his office with confidence that he will have the answers and I am not disappointed.

I have had a difficult thyroid situation ever since getting radiation in 1993. Dr. Yokai listen, ran several tests, retested and then carefully explained his recommendations, listened to my concerns and questions and never once talked down to me or patronized me. He came up with a great solution. I trust him and feel like he has my best interests at heart. He always returns calls and thoroughly explains things to me.

Dr Nakai has a very cold look to him. He doesn't smile and he doesn't have a personal relationship with his patients. I have been to him three times and all three times he doesn't try to get to know me he just gets to the point and leaves. His receptionist Jan on the other hand is very nice and talks to you and takes time to make small talk. I like Jan very much. Dr. Nakai on the other hand is a different story. Find another doctor.

My medical issue required several tests and approaches to diagnose. Dr. Nakai pursued thoroughly the testing and trials needed to pin the problem down, and correct it. I was amazed at his knowledge and explanations of the ultimate problem and treatment. I know I was in the hands of the right professional.

spent most of my appointment learning about what degrees he had, the scientific break down of medicine (with hand drawn pictures) If I were a doctor perhaps I could have figured out what he was talking about. asked me questions just to talk over me every time. Then let me know he didn't have any more time, and that he was late. That was it. The worst experience that I have ever had with a doctor.
