Excellent care, very knowledgeable

He was nice when I finally got to see him, but VERY hard to reach, call-backs about 1 out of four times, staff wouldn't follow up on missing lab work results but told me I should call the lab myself. But of course, the lab will only release the results to the ordering doctor. Most calls reach a machine. I followed directions on their answering machine to request a call back to schedule my next appointment, but of course they haven't called back.

I am very grateful to Dr. Choe for a very thorough appointment. He restores my confidence that we may get to the bottom of this. Thank you, Dr. Choe.

the clinic and Dr. Choe are excellent. would recommend in a heartbeat. i have been a 10 year patient with no complaints!

As an MD myself, this is the doctor to go to when you need an accurate diagnosis.

Misdiagnosis â?? posted moments ago DR Choe diagnosed me w systemic lupus 7 years ago. Just found out from my new DR that I don't have lupus! new DR reviewed my records from DR Choe and said I should have never been diagnosed w lupus, there is not enough evidence to support that diagnosis! Even in his own notes he never says I have lupus, it says "Unknown connective tissue disorder". All the pain I have experienced has been from arthritis in my spine, not a fatal non curable disease!!! This diagnosis put me and my family through a lot of mental anguish! I wish I could sue him! I wonder how many other patients he has lied to?

I had spent years bouncing from doctor to doctor to find out what was wrong was me. After MS was ruled out, a rheumatologist was about the only type of doctor left. My PCP told me he didn't think I had RA, because my RF value was low. Dr Choe diagnosed me at my first visit, did blood work that reconfirmed his supposition made during my first visit. Since then, he has shown care, compassion and knowledge with me. He always had something new or different to try, and I believe he is taking excellent care of me. He will not prescribe pain meds without seeing you, so calling in to get a script doesnt work, unless he arranged at your last appointment that you would be allowed to call in and come pick up a prescription for whatever the agreed upon length of months last. His receptionist are good at their jobs, and are helpful in finding a quick appointment for me. Billing is not done at the office, and all billing questions must be referred to another phone number. I have never had any… billing issues in the 1.5 years I have been his patient. Blood work is usually done on site, sometimes before, sometimes after, my appointment. If he is running behind, they will do blood work first, or if he has a note in your file to do if first. I am very grateful to him for being my doctor.

My overall experience with Dr. Choe has been great. He is very knowledgeable about resources, referral systems, and rhumetology. He diagnosed my Lupus 14 years ago. He has helped keep me healthy and experiencing a minimal amount of pain. His exams are thorough and he lets me know what he is thinking about my condition. If he has any questions about what is going on with me he will refer me for another opinion. He works well with my primary care physician. I think this is so important. His staff is awsome. They always call me the day before to remind me of my appointment. They know that I am traveling for the appointment and they will let me know what the weather looks like in the Olympia area. I have never had to wait more than 10 to 15 minutes. If they are running late they let me know and will do bloodwork before the appointment instead of after to save me time overall. They have been able to get me in for an appointment within two weeks of my call. Overall, I have had… great care and will continue to receive care from Dr. Choe as long as he will have me.

Dr. Choe is exellent when it comes to correct diagnosis. However, he isn't good when it comes to follow up care or treatment. He also seems to have, at least in MY opinion, a discriminatory view towards the patient's age. Older patients seems to get much better follow up care and on-going treatment from him. Younger patients, like myself (in my 30s), don't get any long-term treatment or care. I have osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) and fibromyalgia (another disease considered a form of arthritis). I never got any treatment from him for more than a couple months. Never got anything or referred to anyone who could help relieve or control the constant chronic severe pain I live with on a daily basis. So, he would be great for older patients who seem to get more of his time and attention and care. If you are a younger patient, I suggest you look elsewhere unless you are just seeking a diagnosis, which he is excellent at.

Dr Choi and Olympia Arthritis is the most fly-by-night outfit of a doctor's office I have ever visited. Extremely long wait times, staff doesn't know if I have a co-pay, if they accept my insurance, how much I owe...they don't accept credit cards, when you try to pay with cash, they tell you they can't accept it as they don't have change even though they have no idea how much you owe them to begin with, then they turn the account over to collection because they wouldn't take your money. Dr. Choi is pleasant enough I suppose, but he only sees you for five minutes and then obviously charges enormous fees. After about a year I finally recieved a bill that said that they accept many different health insurances, just not mine (United Healthcare!) I paid the collection agency in full (they apparently knew how much I owed) and dropped this doctor like a hot rock! Very unprofessional and unsatisfactory.
