Dr. Zachary Joel Tempel, MD

After several years of steriod/anti-inflamatory shots in my sciatic nerve, followed by 4 spinal injections between L4-L5, prescribed eariler by another orthopedic surgeon, Dr.Tempel corrected the problem with fusion surgery and after just 2 monthes I feel better than I have in years! Highly Recomend seeing him for your spinal needs!

I couldn’t do anything with my hands my arms my legs. I have pain everywhere in my stomach, in my arm. Just everywhere in my back. It was horrible. All I did was cry constantly. Multiple trips to the hospital only got me answers like you’ll never walk again, even you’ll probably never live another year. Then along came Dr Tempel who told me they were all wrong that it was gonna take a while but they were all wrong. Here. I am a few years later the happiest person I know. Then he told me that this was the easiest surgery. He didn’t tell me it was the easiest for him lol OL it was the hardest for me. It was extremely painful, but I guess that was because now I can feel everything. I can do everything, everything that matters to me anyway, I can walk, I don’t have the pain in my arms and I can use them all those things. Dr Tempel is the greatest surgeon that ever walked this earth as far as I am concerned.

Dr. Tempel helped me to get my life back. I am now able to walk without the severe pain that I had prior to surgery. Kara Rhoads (PA), Maddie Drabek and the entire staff made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

Dr. Temple and the whole staff at Mayfield Brain and Spine are the best!! From consultation to diagnosis to surgery to physical therapy, all of the Mayfield staff provided excellent care. Today was my 6 week post-op check up and as soon as Dr. Temple came in the room, I told him he is my favorite person in the world. He quickly diagnosed my herniated disc and scheduled surgery right away. From the minute I came out of anesthesia, I was pain free. From that point on, I haven't experienced any pain and have been able to sleep all night long. Thank you Dr. Temple and the whole team at Mayfield!!

Dr. Temple won my "vote" when I first met him. He is very friendly and provides information needed prior to the complex spinal reconstruction surgery I was being scheduled for. We have experienced such good results that friends that see me can't believe I look (and feel!) so much better.

Beginning in 2017, I began experiencing issues with the thoracic area of my spine when we found two herniated discs causing severe pain and weakness in my legs. Initially, we struggled to find an MD with expertise with this rare spinal injury. Eventually, we were referred to Dr. Tempel. The surgery went exceptionally well. Dr. Tempel displays excellent bedside manner and is extremely patient with your needs or concerns. Dr. Tempel truly cares about improving the quality of life for his patients. I've experienced three prior back surgeries in my life, and Dr. Tempel by far was the best doctor that has operated on me thus far. He is truly a lifesaver and has given me my life back.

I can't say enough positive about Dr. Tempel, his staff, and Mayfield Spine Center. I have been living with neck pain and headaches for 18 years. I have tried multiple treatments that brought me no relief. From the first phone call I made through my surgery and follow up care everyone has been great. Dr. Temple was easy to talk and answered all my questions. He made having neck surgery less scary. Today I am 6 weeks post op and it is nice to wake up with no neck pain and no headache. Thank you
