My daughter and myself have had all of our wisdom teeth removed at another practice, and brought my husband for a consultation. Dr. Sheikh was professional, BUT his staff was NOT. The lady that schedules and handles insurance was annoyed when she gave us the grand total of over $9800!! When we tried to determine what was priority, and asked for pricing, she seemed annoyed when she had to “re-do” the estimate and print it out!! She wasn’t the least bit helpful. She seemed annoyed at having to punch numbers and calculate for us. That’s a lot of money to drop at once, especially most of it being cosmetic. We ultimately decided to ask our dentist to refer us to the practice i went to, and it took over 3 weeks and 4 calls to get our refund of the deposit, and no explanation on why it wasn’t refunded in full. That portion was supposedly handled by “Julie, the office manager”, that I never had the pleasure of speaking to. I’d say this practice needs to definitely work on customer service!! I… would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I was a bit nervous about having all 4 wisdom teeth removed, plus a couple of torn from my lower jawbone, especially since so many people told me their stories of pain and being out of commission for several days. I didn't have to worry at all! Dr. Shaikh and the staff took good care of me, and I was back working the very next day. No pain, and barely any swelling. I highly recommend their practice. Recently my daughter had 4 of her wisdom teeth removed and I am impressed with the professionalism and skills of Dr. Zakir Shaikh. He is knowledgeable, courteous, and has one of the best, if not, the best bed side manners ever!! He takes the time to explain EVERYTHING, allows you to ask questions, and has such a calming effect. This is the second time I’ve used his service. My daughter had all 4 teeth extracted in less than 15 minutes... No lie!!! I couldn’t believe it my self and in less than 2 hours we were back to shopping. I have no clue how he does it, but he is definitely the best oral surgeon. Humble and down to earth. Kudos to his staff! Customer service at its best and Dr. Shaikh definitely leads by example!!!!

It was during the Christmas Season when I had an emergency, and my tooth needed to be extracted. My regular dentist was closed, but their office (Winter Garden Smiles--Dr. Nadia Ramdin), was kind enough to refer me to Zakir Shaikh, D.M.D., M.D at Orofacial & Dental Implant Surgery. All my information was sent over to them and they agreed to see me at 11AM that morning. The staff was extremely professional and accommodating. Keep in mind not only was I a new patient, but also a 'Surprise' during a tight Holiday schedule. They made me feel comfortable even though my pain was excruciating, causing me a sleepless night prior to my visit. Doctor Shaikh was painless in technique and quick with his work and I will return there to have my implant put in. In no time that tooth was extracted and I now have found another Dentist that is painless like my Doctor Nadia. I can now go into 2018 pain free. Blessings to all for the New Year, and thanks to the lady I met there who came as a patient… herself, who was there with her family but still offered to pray me through my experience.

Dental work is a huge source of anxiety for me. Having my wisdom teeth removed had me incredibly nervous, but Dr. Shaikh and his staff at Orofacial took such good care of me, taking into account my fears. The process went smoothly and my recovery was much better than I had been prepared for. I've already recommended Dr. Shaikh to friends!

I went to Dr. Shaikh at his Waterford Lakes Location. I had 4 wisdom teeth that needed to be removed, two of which were impacted. During the consultation I found him to be very rushed, and not personable. I was reluctant to use him for the surgery, but went ahead anyway.I am happy to report that I think he was just having a bad day during our first encounter. On the day of surgery, he was very friendly and reassuring. I was put under during the extractions, so I do not recall much at all. At one point I think I said that I could feel something (I do not recall actually feeling pain), and the next thing I knew I was waking up and it was over. I think it took about an hour to complete.I had a little numbness near my chin, but the wisdom tooth on that side of the face was impacted. It has completely worn off now, just a few months later. The office did not schedule a follow up appointment after the surgery. At first I thought that was odd, but I appreciated that they didn't try… to nickel and dime me for another appointment fee.They send you home with a small booklet of instructions and a prescription for vicodin. I would recommend asking for an oral syringe to aid in cleaning out the pockets left behind by the extracted teeth. I did not receive one or know to ask for one. I quickly found out that food would get stuck in the pockets. I wound up using my water pik at home on a very low setting at that has worked for me. I would only recommend doing the same if your water pik has a very soft setting. You just want to flush the pockets, not injure them.Overall, I'm really glad the surgery is over and i am happy with the results.
