Dr. Zebi Naz, MD

There were a lot of things I liked about Dr. Naz. She was efficient in trestment in a lot of different ways, and at times had a good sense of humor. One time, I was very anxious about a medical issue, and she made her next appointment wait so that she could talk to me and make me feel less anxious. Although, I really struggled with her as a PCP for many reasons. My biggest issues was that her "bedside manner" were not good at all. She made me feel unheard, unlistened to, and I didn't sense very much empathy and warmth from her. It's hard to literally get naked in someone's exam room, and not feel good rapport and warmrh with your PCP. Also, I felt like many times she dismissed my concerns and jumped to a diagnosis. I came to her about stomach problems and only a few seconds into explaining my symptoms she labelled them as a symptom of a prior diagnosis. She didn't run any tests, and simply gave me medicine. I would at times ask questions and didn't feel like I would get… thorough explanations, or she made me feel dumb for asking for further clarity. Often, I felt rushed in my appointments. I did really like her PA, and the women at the front desk we're really helpful multiple times for me! So overall, competent, but she needs to work on bedside manners, empathy, listening skills and quick diagnosis.

While Dr. Naz was practicing in Paw Paw, my husband and I found her to be very caring, astute, tactful, and knowledgeable. I am missing her very much since she changed locations.

Dr. Naz's bedside manner is very stiff and unwelcoming to begin with, but that could be tolerated. However, when my wife went in about a potential miscarriage Dr. Naz was quick to promise that she have a blood test to ensure my wife was pregnant to begin with. If she was, Dr. Naz told us she would call us and let us know what needed to be done next, because time would be a big factor if the pregnancy didn't exist. The blood test confirmed the pregnancy. Dr. Naz never contacted us. It wasn't until we called them that we were able to find out what was going on. Dr Naz had left notes that we would need an urgent referral to an OBGYN if a second blood test did not show hormone levels dropping, but never called us to schedule that test - nor did she instruct anyone else to call us and schedule that test. In a less severe case with Dr. Naz, I went in to get a physical and have my cholesterol checked since my diet has been rather horrid for the last few years. She checked my blood… pressure and told me there was no need to do a cholesterol check since I looked fine. When my insurance company did a free health survey at my work, I discovered my overall cholesterol was over 200. It should be around or below 100. The nurses running the clinic suggested that I get on some kind of medication quickly. Good thing I "look fine" to Dr. Naz. Sadly, she is the only MD in the area accepting new patients. So if you're looking for a decent doctor in the Paw Paw area, be willing to drive.

shes nice to me and friendly she all ways help me when i need her. I say shes a very nice docotor and she should get a award . She never let me wait in her office. Shes relly nice to me every time, sometimes she come in my partyies and we have lots of fun together bye see you later!
