Eddie Gilliam, PHD, CFNP

Eddie Gilliam is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with a special interest in neurology. He evaluates and treats a variety of neurologic disorders and also sees individuals requiring hospital follow-up and urgent evaluation. He works in close collaboration with the neurologists at Western Neuro.

Prior to joining Western Neuro Eddie was at the Carondelet Neurological Institute at St Joseph’s Hospital as a Neuroscience Nurse Practitioner, providing care to neurology and neurosurgical patients and was a member of the Brain Attack Team. He has also been employed as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner with Sound Physicians at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Eddie is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Master of Science in Nursing and of the Medical College of Virginia-Virginia Commonwealth University with a Doctorate in Anatomy, with a concentration in Neuroscience. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the …University of Arizona in motor control and movement. He is passionate about patient education and co-ordination of patient care. He is a long-time transplant from the East Coast and loves the Sonoran desert. His interests outside of medicine include biking, scuba diving, cooking, travel, reading and cheering on the University of Arizona Wildcats basketball team. He is married and although he and his wife do not have children, they do have Samantha the Wonderdog.
