Dr. Emma P. Montanez, MD

She is the best and I am so sad to hear she’s leaving. It’s very hard to find a doctor of her quality

Despite repeated attempts to obtain MY results of medical procedure performed in July, this “doctor” provided the POSITIVE results (not a good positive) and didn’t even apologize for the delayed notification instead BLAMED ME for being a bad self advocate. Medical gaslighting expert.

My initial visit with Dr. M lasted about 30 mins. I filled out the intake paperwork and got a flu shot and a pneumonia shot and 3 referrals. I was taken aback when I saw her office had billed my insurance over $1,100.00 for that one visit! While seemingly kind, I found Dr. M is also rather judgmental. She suggested I needed to go to church. Then when questioned about my drinking habits, I admitted that since retiring I found that most days I enjoyed having a beer. I also honestly reported that when my son was hospitalized in Shock Trauma, I was panicky and found I couldn’t catch my breath upon waking and discovered that a glass of wine calmed my nerves enough so that I could leave the house. I was surprised however that Dr. M took this info and labeled me on my public medical profile as a “chronic alcoholic”. Rather harsh I thought for someone who knew me for 30 mins. I have lost all trust in this woman

Dr Emma Lewis and her staff are amazing. The most accommodating Medical office I've ever been to! The level of care and professionalism here is top notch. I can't say enough goods things about this office!

Sl*t-shamed me for 40 minutes straight. Asked me three different times if i have ever had an STI (she clearly didn't believe me when i said i hadn't), asked me how long I've been "not straight" for when i told her i date men and women, told me i'm probably single and have problems with men because of my terrible father, made me get dressed (from being completely nude) in front of her and then commented on my choice in underwear, told me over and over that having multiple sex partners is "very dangerous" and also asked when i lost my virginity (i'm 29, WHY is this relevant?!) Worst doctor experience i've ever had. RUN!!!

If you are intetested in a front office staff who can turn good morning into an argument, who are nasty, impatient, and unhelpful every time you call, and a dr who does not return calls, does not follow through on anything, does not give you test results, does not treat even when tests reveal problems, who tells you she has no idea what is wrong with you, who does not listen to what you have to say, does not call your other physicians who have requested to coordinate with her, interrupts you when you try to talk and tells you everything you are saying is wrong, and pretty much makes whatever your problem is ten times worse, then by all means, schedule with this dr. If you want actual medical care, look elsewhere.

I am so sad that you are leaving. You are such a great Doctor with an amazing personality. I will miss you but I wish you all the best and stay as sweet and caring as you are.

Dr. Montanez brings a gentle inquiry and professional listening to her practice. Her thoroughness is evident in making sure she gets the diagnosis right.

I highly recommend Dr. Montanez to anyone who has been written off by doctors because of unusual symptoms. She actually listens, cares, and believes you. She takes your input, and explains to you what she's thinking and why she's thinking it. She doesn't treat you like an idiot. She takes the time needed and that makes her a great, rare, M.D. She helped me get to the bottom of an issue that would have taken years of run around elsewhere. Besides all that I genuinely think she loves her patients.

This Dr is one of the best around. She is compassionate and understanding. Really nice and pleasant woman. Actually sits down and talks to you about your issues. Never have felt rushed like other doctors. She has a great bedside manner as well. Her follow up is good, always gets things moving to help resolve problems. Her staff is polite and knowledgable. It is my pleasure and am so grateful to have an MD who really cares about me.
