Lanny Douglas

Lanny Douglas saved my life 16 years ago, when nobody else would listen to me. I was heavily medicated when I showed up at his office, in and out of psych wards. He has worked with me closely to find the right balance for my brain, while others wanted nothing more than to add diagnoses to my chart, and throw more medication at me. Lanny did not do this, he has strategically balanced my medications so less is more. Lanny is a hero in my eyes!

When I first moved to FC I need to find a psychiatrist that worked with my insurance. He had me right some stuff down and talked to me for 1 hour and diagnosed me as bipolar. 7 other psychiatrists have given me the DX for anxiety disorder. Which is real. They are all MD's. So he had me take BP medication which put me into a suicidal spin for 2 years. No matter what I said, he wouldn't listen to me. He said I has having manic attacks. Manic attacks are supposed to be fun, I don't know, I'm not BP. Panic attacks are different, it feels like you can't breath, your having a heart attack, lips, hands and feet would go numb. I told my hubby, I can't stay here. We moved to Houston, TX where I met Dr. Chomie (not sure I spelled that right), she's a chemist. She told me I was not BP & have a complex chemistry. I was on probably 5 bipolar drugs. She put me on a Tricyclic and slowly started taking me off of all BP drugs. She literally saved my life, I now only have a panic attacks 2-3 times a yr.
