She earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she was a recipient of the Certificate in Social Determinants of Health and Disparities. Dr. Harris teaches and supervises medical students and residents and is an Assistant Training Director of the General Psychiatry Residency Program. She has published and presented in a number of areas including healthcare inequities, racial/cultural treatment dynamics, addiction psychiatry and trainee education.
