His main focus is on the use of cutting-edge tools to perform percutaneous coronary intervention, transcatheter valve replacement or repair with devices such as TAVR or TEER, and stroke prevention with left atrial appendage occlusion devices and closure of patent foramen ovales (PFOs).
Dr. Mihatov obtained his BS from Georgetown University followed by his MD from Duke University School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency, chief medical residency, and general cardiology fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School where he was chief fellow. He currently serves as the associate program director for the general cardiology fellowship and medical director of the cardiac intensive care unit.
Dr. Mihatov’s research interests focus on the implementation of novel devices into clinical practice and outcomes associated with interventional procedures. He has authored recent publications in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and the New England Journal of Medicine.

I'll keep this short. Decided to go to this brilliant doctor after a previous doctor gave me an incorrect diagnosis for an echocardiogram and said I needed heart surgery for a vave repair or replacement. SO, I did my own research for a specialist in heart valve issues. THANK GOD I found Dr Nino Mihatov. He did an echocardiogram on me, (the one from my previous doctor was mostly unreadable and that doctor I have a bad valve). SO, Dr Mihatov looked at the echocardiogram that HIS office did on me and said everything is fine. A little calcification, but nothing serious. But NOTHING to be concerned about with my VALVE. SO, Number one. He has a GREAT personality. You can tell that he is brilliant, but aside from that, he is NOT arrogant like my last doctor, he is NOT condescending as was my last doctor, he and his colleagues KNEW how to take an echocardiogram. He is FRIENDLY, is GREAT at explaining what is going on. His office drew bood, I received the results PRONTO!. His OFFICE STAFF are… WONDERFUL .I dealth primarily with MATHEW. He is a SAINT. I also dealth on the phone with a woman whose name I cannot reember but SHE TOO was so nice to speak with. I'm in pretty good health and a senior citizen. I've been to MANY doctors over all these decades and for MANY tests. All the doctors I've seen since I was a child have been pretty good. The LAST doctore, BEFORE Dr. Nino, was the WORST. So, without further ado, Dr. Nino Mihatov, is the BEST doctor I have ever dealt with in my whole life. PS. The doctor who assisted him (SO sorry that I can't remember his name, was ALSO a saint. SO understaning, pleasant and brilliant! If you want the BEST Cardiologist on the planet, call Dr. Nino Mihatov! My sincere thanks to Dr. Nino, and EVERYONE on his staff.
