Dr. Stessie Dort Zimmerman, MD

Stessie Zimmerman, MD, a primary care sports medicine specialist with Intermountain Health’s Orthopedics Specialty Group at TOSH in Murray, Utah. She supports patients in Murray, Sandy, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights, and surrounding communities treating overuse injuries, sprains, strains, pediatric sports-related concussions, and more. She focuses on pediatric and adolescent patients, guiding them to learn skills that foster a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity and wellness.

As a provider, Dr. Zimmerman’s clinical interests include injury prevention, performance enhancement, and the care of acute and chronic injuries. She understands how clear communication, teamwork, and shared decision-making are vital in helping patients reach their physical activity and quality of life goals. Her research focuses on youth sports participation and bone stress injury treatment for pediatric patients.

With a wealth of experience, Dr. Zimmerman has provided care for athletes …across the spectrum, from youth sports to professional teams like the NHL Philadelphia Flyers, NFL Philadelphia Eagles, and the US Women’s National Soccer Team. 

Outside work, she enjoys playing team sports, snowboarding, listening to jazz music, traveling, and camping with her husband and their young children.
