Tatiana Burkholder, DNP, AGACNP

Tatiana fell in love with critical care during her experience in intensive care as a student and has never wanted to do anything else! She is passionate about helping patients and their families through one of the most intense times of their lives while fine-tuning their care.Before the age of eleven, Tatiana and her family lived in three different countries—she speaks English, German and Russian. She believes moving so often, learning different languages, and often being an outsider, helped to form her ability to empathize and taught her the joy of working with patients from different cultures and backgrounds. This has led her to an interest in working closely with minority and immigrant patients and their families to provide the best care she can. Making a positive change in someone's life or helping a family make an important decision is what makes health care so rewarding for her.Tatiana has been volunteering at a small summer camp in Michigan since she was in high school. …She now runs a camp for young adults and volunteers at their youth camps. In her free time, she likes to run, play board games, hike, and travel to see friends and family abroad.The most important focus for me is looking at the patient holistically. The more I get to know my patients, their support network, and all aspects that contribute to their health, the better I can collaborate with them to find solutions that meet their specific needs. For me there is nothing more rewarding than improving someone's health.
