Nicole D. Teifer, DDS
I would not change being an orthodontist for the world. I get to change people's lives by building wonderful connections with them and also giving them beautiful, healthy smiles! I want my patients to feel happy and confident about their smiles after each and every visit, and not just after treatment! The more a person cares about their smile, the better care they will take of their teeth and gums. Great oral health means a quicker and more efficient orthodontic treatment, and a lifetime of beautiful smiles!
Education and Continuing Education
Great orthodontics begins with a strong education. In order to become an orthodontist, I attained the following degrees and certificates:
B.S., cellular and molecular biology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
DDS, University of Detroit — Mercy School of Dentistry
Orthodontics residency and Certificate of Orthodontics, University of Colorado — Denver School of Dental Medicine
Board-eligible orthodontist …through the American Board of Orthodontics and certified as an orthodontic specialist in the state of Michigan through the Michigan Board of Orthodontics
My profession is always changing and adapting to new technologies, and in order to provide my patients with the highest level of care, I attend numerous continuing education courses throughout the year, including self-ligating treatment, Invisalign®, and courses in early treatment. I also attend the American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session to stay current on the latest methods that decrease treatment time and improve results for my patients.

In the Practice
I know that patients come in looking for a amazing smile, but I also strive to provide a wonderful orthodontic experience. I love being part of my patients' lives and to help them in their personal growth as well as their smile transformations. When I had braces, the difference in my confidence and my appearance had a huge impact on my life, and I only wish that I had treatment sooner!
I do everything I can to try and help my patients obtain the orthodontic treatment that will impact their life in the best way possible so they can have a smile they are proud of for a lifetime! I plan to spend the rest of my career helping as many wonderful patients as possible. I support and cheer for my patients in every one of their endeavors, and I can't wait to help design the smile they want.
Family and Community
I am originally from Woodhaven, MI but love living in Plymouth. I am actually only two miles from my practice so I can always be there when my patients need me! At home I have two westie dogs named Lily and Spike, who are also the office mascots! In my spare time, I enjoy playing with Lily and Spike, cheerleading judging, dancing and aerobics, reading mystery novels, and hanging out with my sisters and my three nephews, who always make me smile!
I love being active in our community, especially when it comes to judging cheerleading squads! I have been judging middle school and high school cheerleading since 2001. I've judged for Plymouth-Canton-Salem, Northville, Novi, Livonia, and the surrounding school districts numerous times.I love to help cheerleading teams improve because I was a state champion cheerleader in high school and a state championship cheerleading coach for Gibraltar-Carlson High School. I am always happy to support the schools and athletics in the area!
