Carol Wilbanks, NP-C

Carol Wilbanks is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in cardiology at The Chattanooga Heart Institute. Carol earned a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale,Tennessee. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse at The Chattanooga Heart Institute for 13 years. Carol has also worked as a nurse practitioner in utilization management at Health One Alliance inDalton, Georgia. She felt a calling to cardiology. Carol considers every patient as she would her own family, valuing their input into their own care. She strives to ensure every patient understands the purposes and rationale of their treatment plan and wants every patient to feel heard and understood. Patients who really want to understand their diagnosis/diagnoses, particularly those with atrial fibrillation, are empowered to engage in their treatment plan which typically results in improved outcomes. Outside of work, Carol …enjoys spending time with her family, especially her husband, daughters, son-in-laws and two grandbabies. She also enjoys riding and showing her horse in American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) show events including western pleasure and trail-riding.
