Dara Ratliff, FNP

Dara has been a nurse for 25 years. Over the past five years, she has enjoyed the opportunity to provide compassionate care to oncology patients and their families as an oncology certified nurse. Her love for oncology care began as a teen and young adult while caring for her father as he battled leukemia. Little did she know that she too would experience cancer first-hand with her own diagnosis of breast cancer. She says, "These experiences have provided me unique insights into the needs of cancer patients, as well as their families."Outside of work, Dara enjoys spending time with her children, grandson, dog, and granddogs. Her daughter, Morgan, and son in law Barrett, are both pharmacists living in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Morgan is completing an oncology pharmacy residency next year. Dara's older son, Logan, and his girlfriend, Lauren, are currently attending Southwest Virginia Community College. They have a son, Easton, who was born this past winter. Dara's youngest son, Ryan, is a …sophomore at Richlands High School and enjoys playing football for the Blue Tornadoes, hunting, and fishing. Dara recently got a dog, Sadie, who has been quite a handful so far.Dara's ultimate career goal is to obtain certification as an oncology nurse practitioner.
