Elana Marisa Kaya-Jenkins

She is without a doubt the best psychiatric practioner I've ever had, and I've had many. New Horizons (where I see her) is difficult to deal with, but Elana is 100% worth it.

Steer clear. I had a great Dr at this facility that had me on a treatment plan that was finally starting to work. She was retiring and I was transferred to Elana. She read from the notes, and before even speaking to me- told me what she was going to do medicine wise. She was going against the Dr's recommended treatment because "she was old school" and started me on new meds- while removing me from one that I have been prescribed by Doctors since I was a teen. The lack of awareness that this woman displayed when I was discussing that a lot of my new symptoms were brought upon by PPD, she wanted to completely change the plan. She prescribed me a new medication, and let me know that if I did not like any of the effects, to call her the next day. This medication put me to sleep for twelve straight hours, and made me a zombie even when i was awake after taking it. I have a newborn- so I cannot be incoherent and/or asleep like that, even at night. She described my symptoms as being BPD 2,… yet doubled up on anything related to BPD1. She doesnt listen and frankly after receiving a call stating "Shes not removing your meds- you will need to continue with it or find another Dr", she absolutely doesnt care either. I have seen psychs, and doctors for my behavioral issues for decades- and never have I had such increased anxiety dealing with someone from the office visits, to not even spending the time to call me herself when I brought up concerns with the new medication.
