Hannah Ruhl, MSN,PMHNP-BC

Hi, my name is Hannah, and I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner serving clients in Tennessee. I specialize in anxiety, insomnia and sleep issues, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and trauma. I’ve been in nursing for over 10 years and completed my master’s and psychiatric training at Vanderbilt University. I’m passionate about destigmatizing mental healthcare, and together with my colleagues at Lavender Psychiatry, I’m on a mission to create a world where feelings are felt, respected, and cared for.

My therapeutic style is characterized by warmth, engagement, and a genuine personal connection. I believe in establishing a strong, collaborative relationship with each client, where we work together to make informed decisions about their treatment. I chose to be a psych NP because I was able to see the tremendous impact of mental health on the overall well-being of individuals. I often saw gaps where mental health …was not treated with the same priority as physical health and wanted to do something to help close those gaps. I believe good mental health is the foundation for experiencing a vital, healthy life. I also find the field to be fascinating and appreciate that there is always something new to learn in psychiatry.

My practice is inclusive and welcoming, embracing diversity in culture, background, and experience. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including students, parents, professionals from various fields, skilled tradespeople, service industry workers, retail employees, entrepreneurs, artists, and technology experts. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space where each individual feels heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their therapeutic goals. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process. I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.
