I was a patient of Jennifer’s in her palliative care practice for almost a year, being treated for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I have to question her calling herself a palliative care provider as palliative care is normally for providing comfort care to patients with chronic complex conditions that have no cure. She told me in August 2025 that I didn’t qualify for palliative care because I was not terminally ill and that is incorrect information because palliative care is not only for terminally ill patients. It sounded as though she was confusing hospice care with palliative care. It is a common misconception, but not for someone who is practicing as a palliative care nurse practitioner herself. She also pretty much abandoned me when I was on a high dose of opioids and I had to inform her myself that she was supposed to give me at least 30 days notice as well as 30 days of my medication. She was still leaving me in a risky situation because she was not going to be able to taper me off of… my meds safely in just 30 days as she told me she would be doing. I was lucky that another provider took over my care, but this was kind of traumatic, and she knew my history when she took me on, including the fact that I was not terminally ill.
