Jessica Mcmaine, APRN

Family nurse practitioner Jessica McMaine is a certified diabetes care and education specialist. Besides diabetes, her areas of interest include mental illness and preventive medicine. She has been seeing patients of all ages since 2022 at Saint Joseph Medical Group - Primary Care.In her approach to care, McMaine strives to provide hope, and she demonstrates humankindness through compassion, listening and building a relationship with patients. "My nursing philosophy is to treat patients holistically and look at them as a whole and individual person, and I also really enjoy preventive medicine," she said.McMaine was inspired to become a nurse by her own experience of being diagnosed with a chronic illness as a child. The nurses who cared for her when she was hospitalized "created a lasting impression and I knew I wanted to show love to others when they needed it the most," she said. "I believe God called me to the field of nursing/nurse practitioner to provide love and compassion to …all patients." Being a nurse practitioner enables her to serve all ages and see all types of illnesses and diseases, she added.McMaine earned bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to her current position, she served as a medical/surgical nurse, a nurse and certified diabetes educator within pediatric endocrinology, and as a medical/surgical/telemetry nurse.Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, being with her family and going to church.
