Katie Slusarczyk, DNP, APNP, FNP-C

I grew up in Illinois and got my undergraduate degree in nursing at the University of Iowa. I have been working with Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin ever since. I began my nursing career at Froedtert Hospital, floating to all the medical-surgical units. I then transitioned to my role at the McKinley Health Center where I worked as a nurse in primary care while completing my training through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to become a family nurse practitioner.As a provider, I strive to partner with patients to gain an understanding of their goals. We can then work together to create an individualized plan of care to achieve those. I listen closely to patients and view them as the experts of their own experiences. Seeing patients of all ages allows me to build trusting relationships that expands throughout the lifespan. I place a strong emphasis on prevention and education, and use evidence based practice to improve health outcomes.
