At first she seemed kind and like she cared about patient care, but we lost trust as she disregarded medical ethics. She did something medically unethical to me and when I asked her about it, she told me she does this to all her female patients. She disregarded medical journal articles I sent discussing how this is considered a violation of medical ethics, said this was the standard of care (it is not), and said to find another doctor if I didn't like it. This diminished the patient-provider relationship, to see she cared so little about my experience and the harm I was worried others might experience from her unusual policy. Months later, her staff sent my husband the wrong tests to have done in order to get a refill. He had no way of knowing this was a mistake and thought the nurse was asking him to do unreasonable tests and asked to discuss it. She told him if he had any problems to find another doctor. The mistake in the tests was subsequently uncovered and the right tests were… ordered, which he did and was fine with. Then the nurse told him she would no longer fill his prescription and would give no reason for why, just saying she can choose to not fill any prescription if she chooses. It's concerning for patient care how she turned on us for valid concerns. Things went from fine with her one minute to her telling us essentially to leave and making us feel unwelcome in her practice, after we brought up concerns that could have been handled with a simple message like If you’re uncomfortable with pregnancy testing you can opt out or If you have any concerns, feel free to bring them up in your next appointment. I don't feel my husband and I were helped by her care. It was very stressful dealing with her. She ordered many tests without explaining them to us. Her usual practice is to choose the tests on her own, away from the patient, and then come in and tell the patient she wants these tests done without explaining the reasons for the tests. Many were not called for by our symptoms or needs or were specifically not called for, like tests that are only supposed to be run if another test has already been positive, but it was not. She caused us both a lot of stress by telling us to find new doctors almost immediately after we raised even small concerns. She said in an email to me that I should just trust what she does is in my best interest or else find a new provider (implying I should not bring up my concerns with her), which seems risky for patient safety and well-being.
