Nicola Ciarelli

Nicola Ciarelli, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She also attained her master’s from Grand Canyon University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Nicola practices out the Queen Creek and Gilbert, Arizona, offices of 2nd Chance Treatment Center. Originally from Pennsylvania, Nicola first moved to Arizona in 2004. She has over 20 years of experience in healthcare and has worked in a wide array of settings, including over a decade spent as a registered nurse in the emergency department. It was during her time in the acute care setting when Nicola saw the need for mental health providers here in the Valley. She has always been passionate about psychiatry and knew she wanted to help those that suffer from mental health concerns. She believes a strong foundation starts with the provider and patient relationship and working together as a team to discuss the best treatment options for each individual. Nicola is trained and has experience in treating a variety of …psychiatric conditions. She has a special interest in helping those that suffer from substance use disorders. Nicola lives in Gilbert with her fiancé, two dogs, and her crazy cat. She loves her adopted state of Arizona, and the majority of her free time is spent outdoors. Nicola is an avid hiker who has summitted several mountains, most recently Mount Rainier and Shasta. She is also a former ski and snowboard instructor, and her current hobbies include rock climbing, mountain biking, yoga, and paddleboarding. Her lifelong dream is to be fluent in Italian and learn to play the piano.
