Richard G. Gay, NP

Richard Gay, NP, is a hospital-based acute care cardiology nurse practitioner. He offers high-quality, patient-centered care at Willis Knighton Pierremont Cardiology, 1811 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Suites 160 and 210, in Shreveport.  

The conditions he treats are all inclusive — from chest pain, heart arrhythmias and heart failure to pulmonary embolism, peripheral vascular disease and hypertensive emergencies.?“My greatest desire is to be able to sit with hurting and sick people in their greatest time of need,” he says.

A native of Shreveport, Gay says he was inspired to become a nurse during a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2011. He earned an Associate of Science in Nursing degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a Master of Science in Nursing degree at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. He is certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing as an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. He is also certified by the …American Heart Association.  

When he’s not at work, he enjoys duck hunting, golfing, traveling and watching the LSU Tigers sports teams. He also enjoys serving the community through Riverpark Church. He and his wife, Michelle, have two children — Callie and Beaux.
